Yes, Shaf is still here

His travel plans got delayed because of the volcano eruption in Iceland. He's now supposed to leave sometime this week.

Better ask Mac how hise nose is. It look like he may have broke it in that fight? Did not return to box to start the 3rd period.

Blake--

Any idea on what the first tiebreaker is for the last playoff spot and who has it if Flint and Bloomy end up tied for 4th after Sunday afternoon...

Thanks!

Im with ya brother jm, how could you not root for the generals, if they make it to the finals against he ks, then we can root against them.

Wonder who the Komets are rooting for? Hate to sound that way, but I wonder if tomorrow night will be in cruise control and set at less than 75% effort? This game means zilch to the K's, and means alot to Flint, The future of the IHL, and the future of who own the Generals.

Who own the Generals anyway? LOL

I will be joining you JM in cheering for Flint tomorrow. Instead of the usual "SUCKS!" "They all suck!" we'll be cheering for them during intros.

After all the crap they've been thru for the past several years, you can't help but root for them.

Keep up this kind of crazy talk, and people are going to think you guys have hearts. You're going to ruin your reputations! Oh, the humanity!

A Flint/Fort Wayne final? Maybe bring Jimmy Duhart and Fletcher to do the ceremonial faceoff?

But who is in charge of paying the players in Flint? Who is in charge of making sure the players have proper equipment? Who is in charge of making sure the players rent is paid in Flint?

I can see feeling good for the Flint players making a comeback this season and feeling sorry for them.....

But whose responsibility is it to make sure the team is taken care of there?

Who own the Flint Generals?

If it is the IHL's job for taking care of Flint....well how would you grade those people who are in charge of that job?

Once again this season, Flint is a mess. Great for the fans there that still follow this team and for the players that have been mis-treated again this season like last season......but what can this IHL do to take care of these players and the situation in Flint???

Everyone is rooting for the Flint Generals it seems. How do the Frankes feel about the Komet fans feeling sorry for the Generals situation so much, that we now are rooting for Flint to beat our Komets tomorrow night???

Am I the only one hear that sees this as being strange?

I say.....Go Komets!!! Put the Generals down once and for all.

Don't laydown for the Generals. Beat them. Don't feel sorry for the Generals tomorrow night. Beat them. My jersey says Komets on the front of it....and that is the team I support and root for no matter what.

Who the heck roots for the Generals anyway? Really?

A show of hands out there....if the Komets go out tomorrow night and it is obvious that they are cruising and giving a PC Drouin effort and let the Gens win.....are you as Komet fans ok with this???

I am not.

Rooting for the Generals......this should tell the owners something.

The Colts rolled over for the NY Jets and look what happened. I agree that the K's should go out there and drop the hammer. Flint has had their number for awhile now, and there would be no better confidence boost than to wrap the season with a beat down on the team that has pestered them all season. Feel good stories are fine and dandy, but as Herm Edwards said, "You play to win the game!"

Period.

Simple solution... We pull for both Flint and Bloomington to lose today, that way the same outcome happens... Flint in the playoffs and we all get that warm and fuzzy feeling. Although, personally I would rather have Bloomington in the playoffs because they dont scare me as much as the team in Flint who has owned us (on the ice that is...lol) in the second half of the season...

Yes mightbite said bloomy would win the cup??????????????

Yeah, no kidding. The Generals have beaten the Komets pretty regularly lately -- even when the K's were trying. They already lead the season series with us 6 games to 5. The best we could do tonight is tie them. And no, I wouldn't cheer for them if only because it might come back to bite us in the finals -- assuming the K's get past the Icehawks. Though Flint winning the cup would be better than Muskegon getting it.

I'm kind of at a loss when I try to rationalize the 2009-2010 regular season. As of now, as I write this, they are 49-21-5. With a win today the Komets would reach the 50 win mark for the season. That is a remarkable achievement. Thay have totally dominated the league in terms of goals allowed. A win would propel them to 105 points. Their goaltending tandem may be the best in Komet history. Why, then, do I feel so unsure of them as we finish the season today and enter the playoffs on Thursday?

I think when I dig deep down, it still boils down to the inconsistancy of goal scoring. I don't believe that the Komets can go into a series against Muskegon, Port Huron, or Flint and expect to beat them by merely outscoring them. The Komets game all year ( especially in the beginning ) has been based on defense. Recently there have been some pretty "shaky" moments on defense. (That doesn't necessarily mean that it is the defenseman's fault.) Defense starts up front with the forwards and extends back to the goal line. I hope that the K's can re-dedicate themselves to rediscover the defensive effort they showed earlier in the season.

Who would I like to see survive between Bloomington and Flint? Well, the feel good story would be Flint. I think that they could probably give Muskegon all that they could handle. However, I will NOT root against the Komets tonight. They need to find some urgency in their game as the playoffs approach.

Let's take care of our own business first. The other teams will just have to figure out their own destiny. I'm real sure that, outside of Fort Wayne, no one is worrying about the Komets. Let's just focus on winning. Winning will take care of everything. Anything outside of that and the Komets will find themselves on the outside looking in.

The K's have lost the last 4 games against Flint, I believe, so there is no way they dont play hard and try to win this game. Right now they have to believe they can beat this Flint team that is playing very well and has been, IMO, the best team in the second half...

The K's NEED to win this game tonight...

JR
Sun, 04/18/2010 - 8:33am

K's management should be ready to go to condition dog zebra if the K's lose this game tonight, regardless of how they play... They will take some horrendous shots on message boards and blogs based on thier ties to the Flint organization...lol

I typed a long response with numbers and figures and percentages of effort...but I decided to delete it and just say....

LOL Frozen.

Funny stuff.

Leo Thomas played balls to the walls all night...Again.

He has impressed me a ton this year. He should be MVP....hands down. He has brought his "A" game every night this season. He deserves a round of applause and a Laurel and Hardy handshake. Well done LEO. Without Leo, this Komet team would be playing for 4th place tonight.
