You can youtube the phantom interference call. I'd say he's got a great case against Auger.

This could either get really ugly or get swept under the rug with everything done behind "closed" doors...

This also happened the other day... Another possibly ugly scenario...

Hey Blake, somebody is floating a rumor that there was a fight in todays practice involving Woods and MacMillan... Have you heard anything?

Wow, great find JR. That's completely bush. Very unprofessional. How they throw the book at them.

Hadn't heard that one. I talked to several players today and no one mentioned anything, not that they would. I was up until 3:30 last night writing the Mike Nichols story and didn't make it up in time for practice today. Hope to go tomorrow.

If it did happen, knowing those two, they are probably best buds by now.

Practice fights really aren't all that uncommon. I've probably seen 10 over the years. Sometimes it's about something that happened five years ago in juniors, or somebody says the wrong thing about somebody's girlfriend or whatever. Mostly it's too much testosterone, and it's usually forgotten pretty quickly. One time I went to lunch with both of the guys after the practice. I made them buy.

Yeah, I know they arent uncommon, was just trying to figure out if this rumor had any teeth or not... Curious, is all...

What do you think Blake? If they are proven to have purposely ommited the goal scoring angle for review do you think Gagne's stats and the final score of the game should be adjusted to reflect the goal? This is not a case of "human" error; but rather a case of a calculated move to hide a goal scored (if proven true)....

You bet. And some folks should be fired, too. No ifs, ands, or buts.

I agree, Blake.... Her's more on that subject... FSN Pittsburgh has suspended the producer involved indefinitely...

I called Parkview, St. Joe, and Lutheran. None of them have a Mitch Woods checked in. The alleged fight couldn't have happened.

I see that Burrows has been fined $2500 and the NHL is saying the matter is closed. I figured that's how it would go. Whether it's true about Auger or not, it isn't like they have irrefutable evidence against him, and the NHL has to stand behind it's refs. They have to be beyond reproach, since every call is subjective when it comes right down to it. If they were to agree that one ref made deliberately bad calls, people would start challenging everything. It would open Pandora's Box, you know?

I love how the NHL will come out publicly and state how a major penalty is being retracted due to the other player embelishing the hit and "acting" injured; but will just sweep a serious situation like this under the rug...
