Good game tonight Blake. Thank you for doing the pregame show with Randy as I ate another big turkey meal and took a nap and overslept. Then had to dodge all the deer on the way there...thanks again!

Yeah, you all eat pretty good up there, Tim...LOL....nice to see you again!

Can anyone answer for me....didn't Sterling use to wear the #1 for Port Huron? When Russo came out wearing it, my son and I both were all excited thinking we'd get to yell Laaarryyyy all night and lose our voices, but it was not him!

Sterling wore #35 last season, the prior season and when he played for Fort Worth (CHL).

Is there any news on Ryan Potts? maybe if he will fill in? because i have noticed that the komets used four different defencemen at forward in last nights game.

The problem is K1, there's no roster space unless you want to let some defensemen go, and traditionally good dmen are much harder to find than forwards.

K1, they could use a sniper like potts instead of using 4 d up front.

Thinking about changing blog handle from Burgee to Harry Buffalo, Schebig knows what I'm talking about, we met Harry one night at the sit n bull pub.

Burgee, we need to meet.....you sound like fun! And thanks for the answer on Larry's jersey number, Shutterbug. How could I have been so dead wrong on that? Huh. Oh well, that's ok. I thought it was odd that he'd have switched anyway, so I'm good now.

For anyone who cares, the Black Mite team won today at McMillan, 5-1!!!!! Best record in the division still, and Kaleigh Schrock came to watch the game. Nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. My son and a kid on the other team are good friends and play street hockey together, so he told them he'd drop by sometime and school 'em in street hockey sometime. Hope someone has a camera for that....the boys fight and wear no pads, so Shrock might want to wear some protection! LOL I'm sure they'll go easy on him. Yeah, right....

Whats the new word out of Dayton?

Burgee

My kid got his first hat trick today in Bantam, it was a 5-5 tie, only a couple punches thrown by the opposing team

Joe

BB you are correct. Sterling did wear the Jersey #1 for the '07-08 season but switched back to the #35 after that season.
No wonder you thought Russo was Sterling after all he hasn't played much in the MC since the '08 finals.

BLB, congrats to Jason on the win and the winning encounter. His team has really been tearing it up this year. And congrats to your kid, too, Burgee on the hat trick. :)

Sorry to hear about MVL, though.

Speaking of the owners I saw Brunner standing on the stairway before the Komets Saturday game. Do you think they were there to ask for some help from the Frankes?

I wouldn't exactly call Potts a sniper.......he isn't strong nor fast enough to play for the Komets as anything more than a weekend fill in. I know he's a hometown boy, but the fact is, he just isn't good enough. If he was, he'd be on the team.

We should sign MVL to the practice squad

Bruner & Yerrick were sitting in the row in front of me at the game. They didn't get to their seats until the 2nd period, so maybe they were talking to the Frankes earlier.

In Thursday's game with Flint did anyone notice Peter South standing behind the Flint bench? Next question, Does anyone think he made any positive difference? I do not. There can only be one coach. What would it be like if David Franke was behind the Komet bench? Peter South has proven beyond any doubt that he can not coach. Just my opinion.

Is South the guy who kind of looks like an elf? If so yes I saw him back there. I seem to remember one of the Frankes behind the K's bench during a game when Sims got ejected... don't know how much coaching he was doing tho...

Dschebig
Mon, 11/30/2009 - 2:17pm

FMM-yes he was the elf guy. The answer to the second question is NONE-- he was just a face. I was going to type pretty and realized just how silly that sounded.

I take it you're talking a Santa elf and not a Tolkien elf? Because if he were that good-looking, I'd remember! LOL.

Wendy not your type of elf. Short and Plump. OK fat. I do not like to throw stones if you know what I mean.

Shutterbug, thanks! I would have sworn that Sterling was #1...er, jersey number, anyway. He may think he's number 1 in many other ways, but, well.... good to know I'm not AS crazy as I thought. On this issue at any rate.

Burgee, congratz to your son for his hat trick!! That rocks! Mine had three great shots on goal. He's a defenseman, a stay-at-home one at that. I keep telling him to watch the clock a little more and take shots when his shift is coming to an end. He's getting more adventurous. I've got a great shot of him that my sister took where he's battling against two of the other team's defenders (both of whom are way bigger than him, surprisingly, since Jason is bigger than many kids in his division). He's getting a lot more aggressive, but no punches thrown. We play the Blue team next week, though, and they tend to attack our goaltender after the whistle blows the play dead, so who knows? Jason defends his goaltender very carefully (sprawling saves and the like), so there could be some problems there. Maybe his first PIMs of the season!
