Tailing the Komets

Ks up 1-0 after the first

Pretty good first period tonight. Chris Auger set up Artem Podshendyalov to split the IceMen defense and beat Pelletier for a 1-0 Fort Wayne lead. Both teams are flying. Komets lead in shots 12-7. IceMen are playing two men short, mostly on defense where Jordan Little, Karl Linden and Jake Obermeyer are out.

This period K's getting thrown around, skated around, and just plain out played...Wish they would get a little fired in their belly because Eville does right now

Looks like IceMen flipped the ice with their forecheck and NZ trap giving the Komets fits. You can definitely tell a tighter ice surface tonight.

Good to see the K's come back in the 2nd.  I don't understand why, if they are 2 men short, that they are still outhitting us.  Their are even banging our big D-men around in our own zone.  You would think that we would be the aggressors in this area since they are short and we would have everything to gain by wearing them down.  Still waiting for Molle, Henley, and Starenky to play to their size in our zone.  Heck, Gens has thrown more checks than any of our D-men.  Maybe I am missing something?

3rd period should be ours since they are only playing with 3 of their regular D-men, 1 new addition, and Cody.

I'm starting to wonder if it's on the forwards some because they don't hit anything in the opposing zone and they rarely control the puck for very long, so the Komets end up playing in their own zone more and the defensemen are on their heels. I think that's what Henley was talking about in yesterday's story when he said they have toe be assertive instead of being passive where they get running around. I've been charting hits the last few road games, and other than the third line, none of the forwards hit anything.

Beats me.

NO question with us not hitting and you would think of all nights with Eville playing two men short that the K's would be trying to really nail their D-man.  K's were able to capaitalize there in the second to get the lead back, but if they stand around and not take it to the icemen then it could be a difficult third period

Starenky and Lovell both went for the same guy and left the guy with the puck alone. Wow.

Can't believe they had them both on the ice at the same time.
