get ready for another bull crap suspension. the league knows the komets are leaving for the echl and are peeved about it. no way will the komets catch any breaks or be dealt with fairly in regards to discilpline . the last thing the league wants is for the ft wayne franchise to be successful at this point. GO KOMETS

The comment in the article to start things off was interesting....

The Komets are making sure every game means something to the season ticket holders?

What kind of chicken-bleep garbage slap in the face comment was that?  Seriously?  Are you taking shots a Katie Stine?  The Season Ticket Holders who are the back-bone to this franchise?  Or just being a Wise Guy?

I can't believe how a team like the Komets have their beat writer make such comments, or how they send him a memo to that comment.

Very disrespectful to a whole lot of people who love their Komet hockey, and support the team with a whole lot of cash every year.

BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!  Blake Sebring and whoever sent you the message to print that comment.

I read it in the broadest sense of the meaning originally.and see nothing wrong with it.

I agree with Off the Post,  I'm willing to bet the CHL will go to lengths to  keep another team from winning the cup and then flee the league.........

Oh, give it a rest, Mike D. It's just pointing out that for once the last game of the season really means something. Usually, it's a half effort figure-skating contest. That's all that was meant by that.

Where did you see the stuff Katie found? On this blog.

And nobody is successful at telling me what to write, though tons of people sure try on this blog.

And you'll counter by saying the Frankes, so here's the reply to that: Like they were so happy last summer when I broke the story about ticket prices going up, and when I said in December or January or whenever that the ECHL was a done deal, and last Thursday's column. Or that I even posted Katie's piece about season tickets.

All I can do is be true to myself and the way Bud taught me. I'm satisfied if I do that, then the rest takes care of itself.

First off, I'm a huge Komets fan. I moved to Indy several years ago and I still go to about 20 games a year. But I have to get something off my chest. I truely think the fan base is in love with the idea of being hosed by the league, officials ext.... Do you honestly believe the CHL called up, met with, facebooked, Twittered or Skyped the officials to have a K's bashing party, only to come up with the plan to say "It's our league, and you can't play!"? Think about it, why would they be mad when the team that has the highest attendence plays in the playoffs? Not everyone is out to get us! And guess what, sometimes......I know this is crazy, but Komet players actually do commit penalties!! Berating an official on every single call because he is obviously out to make sure the Komets lose, shows that while we get a 10/10 for passion and team support, our fan base either has a below average hockey IQ or is blinded by that same passion.

Here is the thing, NO ONE IS OUT TO SEE THE KOMETS FAIL! (Other than the opposing team) So go back to yelling at the Komet defensmen for not shooting the puck on power plays because someone is blocking their lane, because the league being a bunch of Komet haters is a non issue. Or you could just enjoy the fact that you have an amazing hockey organization filled with not only great players but great people. And a front office who is dedicated to bringing excellence to a state which is not known for its hockey. We truely are blessed Komet fans, stop looking over your shoulder and enjoy what we have!

I'm not sure what all the fuss was about.  When I read the first paragraph I took it to mean that every game, including the 66th, was meaningful.

hate to tell you coach strat but you better think again.. who do the referees pay come from? this is minor league sports and you better believe that the chl is going to do whatever is necessary to protect their entity. now, not saying every call and so forth is scrutinized, but you better realize the referees know the situation and when it comes to discipline, that doesnt come from the referees it comes from the league. the komets are going to the echl , the league knows it, and they are not happy with it. the discipline in the chl has never been just in dealing with the komets and thats coming from a hockey fan, not just a komet fan
