The Bishop Dwenger and Leo club hockey teams will compete this Saturday in Indianapolis for state championships in Class AA and Class AAA. Bishop Dwenger will play Carmel Blue at Noon at Pepsi Coliseum for the Class AA title, followed by Bishop Dwenger against Crown Point at approximately 2:30 p.m. for the Class AAA title. Both teams qualified last weekend in pool play.
The state finals start at 9:30 a.m. with Evansville playing Bloomington in Class A, Hamilton Southeastern A playing St. Joseph's (South Bend) at 11 a.m. and Columbus vs. Culver Varsity at 1:30 p.m.
I believe Hamilton Southeastern is coached by former Fort Wayne native Mike Kellermeyer.
Good luck, guys!

Just to let you know Mike Kellermeyer is not the coach of HSE. However former Komet player Ketih (heavey shoot) Miller is the assistant. Former IHL and CHL all star player and coach Mike (bullet) Berger is the head coach. "Bullet" was Mr. hockey in Tulsa both playing and coaching. His number was retired in Tulsa. When I spoke to some fans in town to see the Ks play Tulsa the lit up when the Mike Berger came up.
Go Leo! I just can't get over the fact that they have a hockey team now. And that they're actually good! :)
