Tailing the Komets

Molle is missing

Komets lead 3-2 late in the second period, but the real bad news is that defenseman Dustin Molle has not been out on the ice during the second period. Maybe the experiment with his balky groin is done for the season.

Honestly did not understand why management would even risk messing with this Statenky health and playing well now more than likely Komets will skate with 5 defense men not a smart move. 7 Total shots for period and two PP just scratching my head after a strong start they took that period off forwards not pressuring the dmen and not playing aggressively they act as if Laradeo was going to quit.

They had to take the chance with Dustin. He was the team's best D-man through November when he got hurt. If he could have come back, that would have given them the league's best defense going into the playoffs. They may still have it, but it's not a certainty. The only way to see if he was going to be able to make it all the way back was by playing him.

Have to disagree with you Blake on this one too much of a risk when home ice advantage is still at stake besides Starenky was playing well and with the type of injury Dustin had very unlikely he would make it through many games he last a half a period and put more pressure on and over worked Defense already I say bad decision on this one

Can the Komets play any worse?  Checking is unheard of in the Jungle.  Jungle?  How about a nature preserve.  This sucks.  Molle should have never played anyway.  We got Starenky as a healthy scratch.  Hope the music, Twister, and the video's were to everybody's liking because I know that's a major problem for some of you.

CHOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Al Sims changed the system again half way through the game. Is it against the rules to score more than three goals a game. Blake, why will sims not keep the pressure on when they get three goals. I guess we see that he doesn't have a killer instinct. I think you should coach them.

I look at it this way on Dustin. If there was a chance he could have gotten back to full strength, that would have been the best addition to any team in the league over the last two months. The only way to find out if he could was to play him because this is twice now when he had not problems in practice and the medical staff said he was ready to go. Now they know.

The Komet players and coaching staff must be insane.  According to a quote attributed to Albert Einstein "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."  No veteran leadership shown in this game, Blake.  The captain himself takes a penalty in overtime that leads to the loss.  I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Ugh!!!!

Well now knowing what are their plans because they are going to need any extra D-man for the play-offs hopefully they can bring in a AM

Blake

I heard that Chaser mentioned tonight that the K's are bringing in Tyler Miller who was released from Wichita and two new players ....do you know the scoop and who the "new" players are?

I hadn't heard that one. I do know they are looking at two or three college players to bring in once their seasons are over, but you won't see them added to the lineup, if at all, until the playoffs.

This is a frustrating time to be a Komet fan..not a terrible or hopeless time because even though lately this team plays as if they are trying to find all the different ways to get just one point per game....they still show talent..they show that they can compete with the top teams and thankfully they are still in 2nd and just a point away from first.  It's harder to swallow because we know they have it in them...they can play tremendously better.

Someone above asked if we could play any worse... of course this team could play worse..we could be getting beat 6-2 or 5-0 on a regular basis..or they could have dropped down to 5th place in Jan when things got tough..or fell apart when they lost Bouch for a few games. and when they were 7 pts down from Eville and things weren't looking too good..again they found a way to reach the top again. Now they just need to keep fighting even after they reach the top...even after they are up 2 or 3 goals...and even when  playing a team much lower in the standings. There are a few suspect players that seem to want to be anywhere else but playing in a hockey game..and that is a shame! but I have no doubt that the majority of the boys on the ice have the heart, motivation and fire in them. My opinion is the amazing team we see now and then, the unstoppable one..should be credited to Coach Sims and every player on the team. With that being said I think the team we have seen recently that doesn't seem to have the killer instict is also credited to  Coach and every Komet player. Coach has to demand full throttle play from start to finish...if they are not buying into his demands or trying to do it their own way...then he better use all his years of coaching experiences good and bad to come up with a way to get them to do what he is demanding...hard hitting, never let up hockey that ends in 2 points. The rest is up to the players and they are responsible for how they play that game.If they don't score a goal, or block a shot...the player is responsible, not coach. Pretty sure Sims or any coach is not saying Ok guys we are up 2 goals..time to lay off..no scoring for a few min. Wins and losses of this kind is truly a coach and team product.

Last thought...PLEASE NO MORE LETTING TEAMS COME FROM BEHIND WHEN U R UP 3-0...AND NO MORE BEING IN THE HOLE AND HAVING TO FIGHT JUST TO EVEN IT UP.

go Komets!!!

Just for the sake of being fair. Apparently one took some offense to my criticism of twister's behavior and the timing of Larry the p.a. guy's music over the announcements.  I am proud to inform you that last night both improved dramatically.  I never, in the world, thought I'd get dissed by someone who goes by the name stinky.

Does one get named stinky, or is it earned by some sort of action?
