Don't Miss the Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale

Plant sales are always popular in our town. Every year we all watch for dates and times so we can take advantage of not only the plants, but the event of going there and doing that. I know I do and with gas prices what they are, I'm also always looking for bargains close by. Plants, locally grown, are being offered at most of these sales. They are potted up out of donors gardens or grown in a greenhouse and are often quite unusual and special.

The Master Gardener plant sales are definitely events you don't want to miss. Those plants come out of the Display Gardens at the Extension and from Master Gardener's home gardens and you can bet they will be priced reasonably. The first one of the year will be on Saturday, May 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. You should plan to arrive early and park in the parking garage or parking lot across from the Extension. There are always Master Gardener Youth gardeners available to help take your plant purchases to your vehicle - and help you load them.

Oh yes, the Extension is located on the campus of IPFW - you can't miss it - it is on the left as you drive up Crescent Avenue/Stellhorn Road toward the Willis Family footbridge that connects student housing to the campus.

I have it on good authority and with the early spring we've had, that the gardens are also spectacular and you will not only get good plants at prices you can afford, but you can enjoy touring the Display Gardens while  you're there. Be sure to corral a master gardener if you have questions.
