Someone once told me the NHL always gets it right. Last night,Bitz from the Canucks boards a player from L.A. and gets a 2 game suspension. Rightfully so I might add. Nashvilles Shea Weber slams the head of Zetterberg and in the process,cracks his helmet. He only gets a $2500 fine. If that's not an "Attempt to Injure" I don't know what is. I think it deserves AT LEAST 1 game.

I agree, it should have at least been a 1 game suspension if the NHL really was concerned with "head hits" (any head hit that is) because, he meant to grab his head and slam it into the boards. I think it is the NHL throwing it back in Babcocks face for bad mouthing the officiating during that in game interview.

yeah.. right jungle monkey.. i thought i seen zetterberg break out a claw hammer and proceed to crack his own helmet! can you imagine if that had been cindy crosby and weber slamming her fragile little precious melon into the glass? banned from the nhl for life would have been the corporal punishment

Babcock, the biggest whiner? Really?... whenever that dude speaks, people listen. He speaks his mind. biggest whiner? LOL i just dont see it. ever. One of the best coaches in the league today, if not top 10 in history. people take their hatred of the wings a bit to far. crosby and the pens are the biggest whiners. period. they even get apologized to for ONE missed call. unbelievable.
Should have been at least 2 games. NHL really messed up with this one. Zetterburg ebelished? give me a break. watch the replay again bud. no way to get around this. he grabbed him, and with full force, shoved his head into the boards. come on now.

I'm not sure what happened, or the posts that must have been submitted, but all season long I've always found Frodawg's posts interesting and informative. Look, I can understand some good natured ribbing but now is the time to move past all that and concentrate on the next series.
If the players can shake hands after a tough series I have no idea why the fans can't either. As Komet fans I think we should act as if this series win isn't anything extra special or out of the ordinary. The K's have won many, and they've lost many. (All one has to do is to go back to last year's game 5 loss in which the Rush eliminated the Komets). The only thing this series did was to allow the Komets to move on. That's all.
As I am sure that the Komets are moving to the ECHL, I will miss the rivalry that Fort Wayne-Rapid City has become. It's just too, too bad that these franchises are so very far apart in terms of distance. As I said in a post yesterday, the Rush remind me of the old IHL.
OK. That's my last word on the subject except I hope Frodawg continues to post here to keep us up to date with things in Rapid City in particular, and the CHL in general.

From time to time Blake, you pop out to defend someone and throw many passive aggresive insults to show your superiority and ownership on the blog. While i understand your need and desire to monitor the integrity of your blog, try to do it without tongue in cheek insults towards others. This in and of itself is just as bad as "jumping" on frodog, and in fact lacks the integrity and respect you were trying to gain by defending Fro. Lead by example.
example: could simply say - "Please refrain from insults and provoking on this site. This goes for all fans from all teams. This is a site to express opinions and support your team without utililizing tactics to provoke and anger others"
But alas, you did not use this type of responce.. you simply defended Fro's right to be here while criticizing comments made to him.. Not a mention however of Fro's negative comments designed to irritate komet fans..

I will always be here and thank you for your concerns ( that don't really bother me) but the K's are in the middle of a cup run and we should be watching that instead of dwelling on the past.I also will miss the K's in the CHL and it is saddening that we won't have the great hockey against each other next year. Someday soon I believe we will see the 2 get back on the ice against each other and rekindle the heated rivalry.
