Tailing the Komets

Komets are up 3-0

Here's the first goal from Jamie Milam after he picked up a rebound. Mike Vaskivuo just scored on a rebound, and then Colin Chaulk seconds later. Missouri just called time out. Shots are 23-12 Komets, and the Mavericks have not gotten many chances.

Great effort by the K's.

I'm still amazed that everytime Henley or Starenky hit someone hard, they call a penalty.

Amazing how we pressure them all game and they get 4 pp's to our 1.  I guess we are back to reffing the scoreboard again.

Most aggressive they Komets have played the entire series, crashed the net for the most part but need to do it more only negative too many penalties, but at least they played the PK aggressive.  Just going to have to accept the fact for some reason or another the ref's look to call penalties on the komets, but a willing to let some blantant penalties go.  It is what it is..

Great game for Leo, best I've seen in a while.  Keep it up Thursday 1 more like tonight will be fine.

I don't think these chl referees have ever seen a rulebook. Unbelievably bad.  Now wonder this league can't keep teams very long.

That may have been the best 60 minutes the K's played all year.

How many icing calls team vs team? Off-sides? PP?  Do the math.. Go ahead and look it up. PLEASE.  now look at shots on goal and time of possession in offensive zone. Usually the team who puts on the most pressure gets the benifit of the calls due to hooking, tripping, interference, ect.. If not that, usually the team on it's heals dumps the puck for icing.

When involoving the Komets that simple hockey equation changes.  How many icing penalties waved off tonight for the mavs? Many.... How many times was a hook, trip, or interference missed? Many.. yet the Komets win.

Komets, it IS - YOU vs CHL. Win it boys. Forget em all. Play like you did tonight or better. Heart. plain and simple, "Heart". Hats off to you guys tonight. Do that again, and again.

mavs get no icing... no offsides.. 2 penaties resulting in 1 full PP and 1 split one. (even though Komets applied the pressure and set the pace). all other penalties were incidental combined with off-setting penalties.  Mavs awarded with 4 full PP, multiple icing and off-sides through-0ut... i refuse to believe the team on its heals played the more disciplined hockey. But defenders can argue how they see fit.. just doesn't meet the normal lay-out of any game out there.

Win game 6, force a game 7 and still are not happy. Wow !!!

Easy there, Frowdawg.

Personally, last night's game was probably one of the best Komet games of the season.  There were two penalties on the K's that at worst seemed questionable.  One was an interference call on Henley, the other a call on Starenky.  Surely by reading our blog you know that I'm a komet fan.  Still, I thought both calls were correct.  Henley's check came without the Missouri player anywhere near the puck and impeded his progress up the ice.  Starenky got an elbow awful high and got called for it.

This has been a most unusual playoff season for the Komets.  Many out of the ordinary circumstances in just twelve games so far.  Komet fans are no different than other hockey fans ( including Rush fans) and have a passion for their team.  I think, if the situation were reversed,  other fans would be echoing the exact same comments as have some Komet fans.  Perhaps our comments are a little easier to criticize because this blog offers a perfect stage to comment on and has gotten popular with other teams' fans as yourself.

Please be careful not to "paint" all fans with the same brush.  Most Komet fans were pretty happy with the game they saw last night.

I hope they are just as pleased with the ending on Thursday night.

Alan---- I'm not saying all K fans are like that. What I was trying to point out is that when a team wins fans should be satisfied. The K's have forced a game 7 when their backs were against wall and it now comes down to the all important game for the conference championship. As the song says K fans "Don't Worry Be Happy".

Hey Allan.

You might want to check the video again. The Mavs player was about a foot from having control with the puck. Henleys check was legal. The interference call was the wrong call. Davids call could have gone either way. Either way, the ref was ok i guess.
