Tailing the Komets

Preparing for Game 2

Expect Wichita to come back hard and early in tonight's game. Russo will also be better after a shaky first game. I'd normally say Komets have to be more disciplined with their penalties, but maybe not. That's how ineffective Wichita's power play is right now. It's fascinating to watch. Thunder had seven pp chances and the Komets only two in Game 1, but I can't say that referee Peter Tarnaris got any of the calls wrong. They were legitimate penalties against the Komets, often to save scoring chances. It might even be part of the Komets' gameplan because they understand Wichita's power-play problems. Maybe not. Nobody on Komets' side is talking about that.

I would expect the Komets to have better legs tonight, too. It's pretty amazing how much better Fort Wayne's defense seems to be than Wichita's, at least in Game 1. We'll see if that changes tonight. Komets just seem to have much more skill on the blue line, and that was a big factor last night.

I predict the Thunder will win tonight. Mainly because the K's will say, "Hey, our goal was to win a game there, and we did that." Okay, I'm done.

The double minor he called on Maggio was a joke the player embellished the cross checking watched video of it he is already falling back before Maggio even went to push back. He missed a blatant boarding by Tetuarlt

I think it will be a tighter game with the same outcome!!! Lets go boys! Jump on them early..stay out of the box...and play smart.

Is the CHL using 2 referees? Also are the linesmen the goal judges? That is what we were told last week they were going to do!

I hope that Wendy is wrong, but I sure understand her thinking.

One has to expect the Thunder to come out "guns blazing".  I'm also sure that Russo will be fired up, too.

As I said the other day regarding game one, if the Komets can survive the onslaught for the first 10 minutes of the game, then I think they can steal this game also.  This should be a better game for the K's because the "fatigue factor" isn't as great for this game.  Regardless of the power play statistics of the Thunder, the Komets must stay out of the box.  It didn't kill them last night but has gotten them in trouble all year long.  It seems to me that this may be a series of speed vs. size.  If the Komets keep working, their speed and forecheck will create scoring chances. If they work hard the Komets have a good chance to win this game.

That is, unless Wendy is correct and they are psychologically satisfied with a split.  Coming home with a split is great, but now they have a chance to get ahead by two games.  The pressure is on the Thunder although we have learned that being down two games in a series isn't automatic haven't we?

Gee, I hope I haven't over analyzed again.

Listening to the pregame and it's interesting that their radio announcer has mentioned watching the video on the Fort Wayne New's guy's web sites.....  He mentioned the blogs a couple of time last night too, and during "down time" they were speculating on whether they'd get a chance to see a Tincaps game.

Go Komets!!

The CHL has infiltrated the News-Sentinel " but I can't say that referee Peter Tarnaris got any of the calls wrong". Once they take over the press we're done for.

I don't see them giving the Thunder the game expecially since it is 4-2 after alomst 2 periods. Sounds like they are playing pretty hard.
