There was a reason I said they'd win a couple and drop one. All season long this has been a team that only played hard when they really needed to. Hey, we won a couple. That was our goal. Still no excuse for not playing harder in the third game when they had a chance to put Missouri on the brink of elimination. They may yet win the next couple, but I just don't feel like this is a team that deserves to win a championship with that mentality.

First off,  I can't express how grateful I am to the Komets for having the drive to bring this series back to Fort Wayne.  Sure, I understand that after winning the first two, that getting game 5 would've been huge.  As Bob Chase would say, "No doubt about it".

My biggest concern isn't the fact that they lost game 5, but my concern rests with the fact that whenever Missouri really blitzed the Komets ( period three of game four when trailing 3-1, and the first period of game 5 as they built a 3-1 lead), the Komets had no answer for it.  I am left wondering if Hillman and his Mavericks haven't found a winning strategy.

Ed McGrane is just killing the Komets.  The K's need to work on that a little, don't you think?  The penalty kill has been killing US!!  That's not exactly the way it should work.  Maybe the answer would be to stay out of the box.  Does everyone agree with that?  What do you think, Mr. Thorne?

Maybe having the last change will help as far as Chaulk's line goes.  I hope so.  I can't help but wonder if fatigue is having an effect on the K's.

Well, I just want to say that I am proud of the guys.  Whatever happens and whichever way the series goes, they have my respect.  If the outcome is negative, then I will stand and applaud the team for their effort this season.

Will the Komets come back with a couple of wins?  It wouldn't surprise me.

But again, as Bob Chase likes to say, "Can't tell ya', still can't tall ya'."
