Fort Wayne had to kill off 28 power plays in their series

Missouri had to kill off 8

I cant find snywhere on the PHPA web site that it has any authority to protect its members from the illegal hits in the last series by the rush. Since 2 of the executive committe are Rush players maybe they could attend the next Komet series to see if the league is protecting its members properly. Contract is up in may, maybe they should negitiate a safety clause so their members arent intentionally injured like Rapid City did to the Komets but the secret 5 ruled otherwise

I don't ever think I've been so happy about being wrong.  I was WRONG.  My fear of a series collapse starting after the loss in game five was not justified.  The team went out to South Dakota, played a full game (plus a little more) and now are on their way back to Fort Wayne.  Good for them.  Congratulations to them for not letting all the obstacles get in their way.

I have to let you in on something, though.

I am sure that out there somewhere in CHL land there is a super double secret politburo style committee doing their best to overturn game six.  We all know that this has been a "repeat offender" series, don't we?  Well, after winning game two in Rapid City, the Komets, having the audacity to go back to win game six certainly qualifies as being a "repeat offender" doesn't it?  The CHL can't have that crap going on, can it?  No, of course not.  So let's watch out for any upcoming CHL reversals.  Two five on three powerplays?  Boy, I guess that would qualify as being "repeat offenders" also.  Thank you CHL officiating.  No reason to stop with the lousy calls.  In fact the CHL should give themselves a two minute minor for abuse of a team. Our "repeat offender", Brent Henley, did not suffer a loss in any game he was allowed to play.  The other "repeat offender", (technically, not officially), Les Reaney, was up to his old antics again.  Oh well, one thing is determined.  What's that, you ask?

No Les.

No more!

Incredible!!! You guys win the series and you're still all about whining and conspiracy theories. I take pitty on the ECHL for taking you in. Good luck against Missouri. When they sweep you in 4 games I wonder how many martians you will blame the CHL for allowing this to happen.

Dear CHL,

We will return your hardware.  Just let us win it fair and square.

p.s.  We realize you can't fix stupid and are expecting more of the same from your officials and the Super Secret 5 committe.

Dear Conspiracy Theorists:

That which can be explained by a conspiracy can also be explained by incompetence, and far miore likely.  Remember, it's not only minor league players, it's also minor league officials and a minor league, ummm, league.  That's why I was appalled by the suggestions of adding a second referee to the playoff games.  The damage that two incompetent officials could do is mind-boggling.  In any case, we won, and beat a good team in the process.   Let's move on.  (and the ECHL won't be better, just different)

I believe this theory is a lot more possible than any conspiracy theory.

Sorry Frodawg and Rush.  We're just having a little fun at your expense, and we are doing it on our blogsite.  Still we probably should get past it now and start to think about Missouri.

The one thing I've always known is that after a series, no matter what had happened or how tough it was, the players ALWAYS shake hands when it is done.  If the players do it, so should the fans.

My theory has always been to root for the team that eliminates you.  The further that team goes also demonstrates the talent of the team that loses the series.  It was a tough, tough series.  No one felt relaxed.  That is a tribute to the Rush.  If the Komets lose to the Mavericks in the conference finals, I will root for the Mavericks against either Wichita or Texas.  Why would I want to see the other conference win?

Just for your information, and I sincerely mean this as a compliment, the Rush have always reminded me of an old IHL team.  That is a chippy team filled with skill, toughness, goaltending, and an "attitude".

Good luck in the future as I don't see any other possibility than Fort Wayne moving to the ECHL.  ( By the way, and don't tell anybody I wrote this, but there are a few Rush players that I would love to see in Komet uniforms someday).

All I can say is prepare yourself for a different type of game if or when the K's join the CHL. It will be a shock to most of your players you currently have on the ice.
