So I guess this means we won't hear much about player moves till June 16th?

Not that it matters now anyway but has anyone noticed that the Komets, Evansville and Dayton were not listed anymore as teams affiliated with the CHL? That didn't take long. However Laredo who suspended operations a month ago and Austin who were listed as inactive are still listed as teams with the league. What a joke! A dying league being ungrateful for what these teams brought to the CHL. It will be gone in 2 years or have to merge with the ECHL.

the chl did put out a press release thursday announcing the end of the two year agreement between the chl and the ihl.  they welcomed bloomy and quad city into the league and wished  the komets  evansville and dayton luck in their new endevors and thanked them for what they brought to the chl. shocked me!  hi ho hi ho its off to work we go!

Not sure what some want the CHL to say. I mean if you owned a company and a couple of your employees left to work for a major rival I doubt that you would make much ado about them leaving.
I contend the CHL should work with the SPHL. It makes sense in geographical coverage and reduce travel for many of the teams. By being closer also produces more rivals as FT WAYNE, Toledo, Kalamazoo, & Cincy does. Plus a developing one with Evansville. That helps put more fans at the games by just the rivallary or opponent fans attending the games.

When could we see the season schedule being released?

ECHL releases schedule earlier than CHL, but I'm not sure when.

I think the CHL has treated the Komets with nothing but class through the whole thing. They expanded the roster limits two years ago, expanded the schedule and named a division after Joe Turner all because of the Komets. CHL didn't have to do any of that.

Thanks for re-iterating these key events and resepect the CHL gave us to some of us who are so easy to be offended without thinking.  Ill be honest, were at an advantage with you, not to mention a reporter of not just the echl but a direct link to the NHL.  This ECHL will be much different for fans and players alike and its not the IHL2.0 or CHL where we have obvious advantages over teams.  I dont judge the franke's and staff's abilities but this will be another great test to their abilities.  Franke's do have a 93' ring in AAA, I think were good.  Im excited.

I'm with you Blake.  I think the Komets and the rest of the IHL owe the CHL some appreciation for the merger(?) of the two leagues.  Without it the K's would have been forced to do something they really didn't want to do at that time.  It wasn't a one way street, that's for sure, but it did give the Franke's some time to step back and evaluate things.

I thought the play in the CHL was fine.  I loved the rivalries that developed in such a short time.  I am anxious to go forward in the ECHL and while I hope that the CHL can prosper, I don't see how it can.

My hope is that the K's can recruit the right kind of guys from the CHL to fit into the ECHL mold. I believe they have a tremendous advantage as they have watched these guys first hand in game type situations.  I hope they remember those two kids from the recruiting trip Al Sims went to last year that were too young to qualify for the CHL.

I didn't mean to offend anyone or anything. There were slams against the CHL all year and I was just joining in after not posting for 6 months. But that was my bad. I should have left well enough alone. I wish the CHL and ECHL well and hope someday to see a 28-30 team AA league by the two merging. Keep up the good work Blake and everyone. I'm done.

The ECHL schedule has been released the first week in June the last two years.  Some of the ECHL teams announced their preseason schedules last week.

Hey KometKrazy.  I was not offended by your comments.  I think that there are a lot of people who found the abrupt exclusion of the K's, Gems, and Icemen to be a little quick and somewhat questionable by its timing.

You just expressed your opinion and you did it in a respectful manner.  Your opinion is important.  So keep them coming, OK?

A blog is a cold way to comminicate.  There are no facial expressions, no voice inflections, or other ways to communicate but just by the  naked words we use.

I have enjoyed your past contributions.  Don't stop.

Since things have slowed up a bit, I was wondering your opinions on who the K's should bring back from last years' team next season.  Remember that you can only have four vets, a roster of twenty, and have a larger salary cap.

Are there any CHL players you would like the K's to talk to?  For example, I am hoping that they contact Brandon Marino who played with Quad City.

Think about it.  Have some fun with it, but remember not to "fall in love" with a player just because he wore the fireball.  It's tempting to want to bring most of the team back, but that is impossible with the new rules.

Be the GM.  No one is right, and no one is wrong.  Let's see what we come up with.

Matt Robinson and Charlie Effnger are two players who I would go after ASAP!
