It sounds as if everyone is having fun with the Cup. That's pretty neat.
One thing I noticed about the President's Cup is that instead of having the winning teams' players names engraved on it, the base is surrounded by plaques that honors the teams that have won.
Well. we have kind of unusual circumstances this year. It is evident that the K's are going to the ECHL next year. The Cup will only be in the possession of the Komets for a relatively short time this summer and I have a suggestion.
I would hope that the Komets would consider taking the Cup to a trophy company and have an exact duplicate created. The only difference would be that instead of having each past winners plaque on the base, they would use that space for the Komet's plaque and then engrave all the players, coaches, etc. names on it and make a permanent space for it in the Komets trophy case.
Blake, is their any way you could pass along my suggestion? After all, this is much more than a momento, it is the culmination of a goal reached. It would be something for the fans to be able to see and remember for years to come.
Anybody with me on this?
I'm with Alan on this one. I think a replica of the cup for the trophy case would be awesome. I'm all for it as long as it doesn't violate any copyright or trademark laws.
I thought about including violation of league rules as well but since the CHL is inconsistent in enforcing their rules I guess I really don't care if they are violated.
Well that explains why some of the guys still looked hungover last night! They really were on a three day binge!
I think thats a great idea Alan! I really hope the Komets take this into consideration and make it happen!
I think the concern would be be more over property rights (copyright) then CHL rules. They no doubt own the rights to the design of the cup and any duplicate or replica would have to be made with their permission. Again, I think, don't know for sure.
