Good morning, dropthegloves.

I believe the ECHL meetings begin tomorrow 6/19/2012.  I may be wrong but I believe the players association agreement is still in place for this season.  They are meeting, but I think it is to get a head start for the new contract starting next season (2013).  ( If the Mayans are correct, it will be a total waste of time).

Not sure if anyone agrees but this is the most boring off season of all.  I mean if not for the Kings winning the Stanley Cup, ( and who would have predicted that happening a few months ago ?), and the mutual relationship with Robbie Laird, not much to get excited about.

Dave Allison did get a new job, I guess.  Gary Graham got a new job.  Mike Vaskivuo signs in France.  Nothing very positive for the present day Fort Wayne Komets.

Final day for season ticket holders to complete their payment for the year is July 15th.  I'm sure the prospect of seeing the new "old" rivals will spur some season ticket sales.  I would submit that player signings would also.  The ECHL deadline for announcing signings has passed and I, personally, would think it prudent to give fans something to "chew" on.  ( I also believe that the K's have a few players signed already, just not willing to announce those signings as yet).  If you believe Dave Franke, and there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't, announcements for players may not come until after the 4th of July.

Personally I am very glad the Komets didn't hook up with Columbus.  I hope they stay away from Calgary as well.  It is going to be interesting to view their philosophy regarding affiliations both for and against.

Oh well.  Someone once said that " no news is good news".  Lots of times that is correct.  I hope it is now as well.
