Glad to hear that the K's have made offers to Rizk, Thorne, DeAngelis, and especially Auger. I would hope they are talking to Maggio, too. They are already at two of their four veterans, but I'm wondering if they are considering Milam or Henley. I also hope they are keeping Vaskivuo in mind.
Players from other CHL clubs I hope they are talking to include forwards Brandon Marino and Eric Giosa from Quad City, and Dan Gendur from Rio Grande Valley.
Young defensemen include Joshua Heyditch and Dylan King from Allen. Also Scott Balan from Rio Grande Valley.
Another player could be Bruce Graham from Allen.
It seems odd that the leading scorer from last year isn't even mentioned. That would be Bobby Chaumont. I am looking forward to seeing the ECHL, but I think their veteran rule is too harsh in terms of number of vets allowed, and the number of games it takes to qualify as a vet is too small.
Any other thoughts or maybe additions I didn't mention?

P.S. I have no way of knowing this but my instinct tells me that Nick Boucher will not be a Komet this season.

Chaulk can't be the captain by rules, unless they change them for next season. Out of the 2011-12 ECHL rule book:
No playing coach, playing manager or goalkeeper shall be permitted to act as Captain or Alternate Captain.

HUMMM---Colin will always be a captain for the team regardless of his title--he can do both and that's the wonder of his spirit and ability to motivate. I am sure there is a way to work this out or another captain will be named for the transition and the his influence will continue. That's the strength of the Komet organization ---blending tradition and change! Go Komets!

I agree that his leadership is what is needed, if he can or can't wear the "C".
