Tailing the Komets

Chris Pronger's wife talks about concussions

You can watch a very interesting video here. It's amazing to me in this day and age that we can have a medical issue like this that is so indistinct in so many ways. People experience them differently and the healing process is so undetermined.

I am gonna throw bricks at someone if the news is true about a roster move.  When the Storm comes, wonder how the machine will spin this?  A Twister is coming, and she ain't as pretty as she once was and she is heavier this time around.  This ain't right, Ok Man? Blow the goal horn!

HUMM is it a current roster move or someone who isn't coming back? Sure hope we get De'Angeles back this year!

Komets said today they are still talking to Frankie and should know something late this week or early next.

Komet Kobatant.

Im sure the Frankes will have no problem catching your ceramic mud.  One player isnt going to make or break a team unless your #91 and first year into the CHL.

Other than all this Frankie talk, is there anything else going on with the Komets? Its been too quiet for almost 2 weeks. And its only 53 more days until opening night. It will be here before we know it.

Blake, this thing about a Komet player is getting to achieve a life of its own.  You have a better channel to the Franke's than many in town.  Do us a favor and just ask them directly.  We don't need or deserve to know the reasons if there is something going on, but  certainly can't be blamed for being curious.

Regarding Frankie DeAngelis.  He would be the perfect player to play defense for this team.  It looks to me as the K's will need some speed at the blue line.  Saying that, however, isn't a blank check endorsement.  The Komets need to find out what his intentions are soon.  If he wants and can live with his offer, then fine.  If not the K's need to move on and continue to work with the roster.

Sad about Chris Pronger.  Medical science has come a long way but this is an example of how far it still needs to go.  Makes you wonder about all the times in the 50's, 60's, and even later when a guy would get his "bell rung" and be sent right back into action.

Help us Blake.  Thanks.

Wow, Alan, thanks I never would have thought of that on my own. Or talking to other players, either.

So far, everyone is quizzing me because they say they don't know anything.

Mr. Sebring, don't be a "jerk" to Alan. I understand the possibility of a fan, especially someone like Komet Warrior 2.0, scooping you on what could be a very major story from the sounds of it must be very frustrating but your response to Alan wasn't needed nor was it very professional.

Orangecrush,,,If anyone is out of line it is you my kockey friend. I got and understood Blakes response perfectly. I learned many years ago to not pick on the host of the blog this one or any other. Blake works very hard at keeping those of us informed and up to date with Komet info! He has many (maybe to many) responsibilities besides the Komets. Just cut him a little slack is all I am asking.

Alan ask a fair question and I am sure when the news breaks Blake will be one of the first to know. He shares with this blog ASAP>

Thanks Blake for all you do!

I'm not frustrated at all. I had a good day today, how about you?

I had an excellent day today, thank you for asking. Your condescending answer to Alan was still extremely rude.

Have to agree, the responce to alan was rude.  Alan posts some very very good things on here. He is almost always considerate, and puts thought and content behind his posts.. Being sarcatic to him right off the bat is a low-blow..

Can't we all just get along. Thanks Blake. Everything you do is appreciated. And thanks Alan for another in the long line of great posts. Keep'em coming.

I'm not sure why Blake responded to me as he did.  I'm OK with it, however.  I am hoping he just had a tough day and took my meaning wrong.  It is difficult to sometimes to communicate through the written word as so much of our communication depends on voice tone, inflection, and body language.

Let me give you a perfect example.  Dschebig chimed in defending Blake ( which is fine with me).  If you examine his second paragraph he writes "Alan ask....," If he was in a hurry and meant to type "Alan asked"..., it would change his meaning.  If he would have written "Alan, ask" ( notice the comma), it changes once again.  Just pointing out how tense and grammer can take a sentence which was meant in a certain way, and change it.

I sure do appreciate the kind words and the support from  OrangeKrush, Anonymous, and KometKrazy.  Thanks for recognizing my efforts to contribute.

I love Fort Wayne Komet Hockey, thus, any type of negative story (especially those with no source of legitimacy given along with it) draws my ire. This story has run it's life as far as I'm concerned and the quickest way to kill it or verify it is to go directly to the source and just ask the question.  No matter what the answer is, I can handle it.

That was the purpose of my question and request for Blake above.

Nothing more than that and nothing less than that.  Respectfully submitted,

Alan.

I thought I responded fairly tactfully considering  I had already talked to the Frankes this morning  and eight team members by the time Alan suggested that. I'm not a total idiot who has never done this before, and yes, I didn't appreciate him asking me to do the most obvious thing. I felt the question was suggesting I had no clue. Give me a little credit, OK?

If that was not the intent, then I apologize.

Wow!!  Never once in my contribution did I suggest or imply that Blake was a "total idiot" or had "no clue".

If you go to the first two contributions (KometKombatant and Krackers 123) you will read that this roster rumor was discussed in both, and Krackers 123 also asked about DeAngelis.  Blake came back with his news that the Komets were still talking to DeAngelis and would have an update on him later.  Nothing was mentioned regarding the roster.

We knew that Blake had talked to the Komets ( I am assuming it was David or Michael) because of the DeAngelis update.  All he needed to do was to include something about talking to the Komets and the eight players, in his response, and none of this would have occurred.

There are plenty of people interested about this.  I have gotten phone calls and have had people ( who ususally show no interest in the Komets) ask me if I've heard anything. For all we know, maybe the Komets just didn't want to talk about it.  Maybe they just rolled their eyes and  dismissed it as a rumor, or maybe there was something to it.  All they needed to do was to verify it, deny it, or issue a" no comment"

Look, I'm not suggesting how Blake should do his job.  I don't know how busy he is or what is rolling around in his head.  This story has taken up a lot of time and space on the blogs. Apparently Blake asked the right questions, but didn't report the answers.

It's his blog and he can handle it any way he chooses.  Still, I'm going to ask questions sometimes.  These questions will be offered with respect and dignity. The only way we learn is by asking questions.  I'm not a mind reader nor do I have a crystal ball in front of me.  I'm not trying to imply or suggest anything.  I can speak plainer than that.  You'll know.

I'm going to continue my way unless I get thrown off the blog.

Alan, there was no need to explain, if people can read, they can see it, it was all there.
