Tailing the Komets

On this date...

Sept. 13, 1952, the Fort Wayne hockey club announced it would be called the Komets.

“Hockey Club to be Called Komets; Train in Canada” the headline said.

Can you just imagine how much Alan would be freaking out about not knowing the team name this late in the summer? OMG! His head would explode. And, no, they did not send any reporters to Woodstock, Ontario to watch training camp, either.

Actually, I was alive on September 13, 1952 and I don't remember freaking out. ( Maybe I was just having a bad day with the nipple.)

However, knowing me as you seem to do, I think it would be obvious that my reaction would be one of angst.  ( For all you reporters out there, angst is a noun which means "full of anxiety").  I thought you didn't believe in questions that were obvious, though.  Speaking of reporters...

since they didn't send any reporters to Woodstock, Ontario back then, could we make up for it by sending one now?  The question is who to send...who to send?  I have an idea but it is so obvious I wouldn't want to offend anyone.

In all seriousness, it is a neat bit of information and I love history.

I hope the next update is one full of player annoucements.
