NHL lockout could change plans for Komets, Admirals

I sincerely appreciate any article that tries to provide additional information in reference to training camp .

Blake's use of the word "uncertainty", above, sure hits the nail on the head.  As I was reading, I went from "that sounds good", to "the math doesn't add up", to "I'm not sure I like that", in a hurry.

Three to five players coming back?  Selfishly I hope they include Marino, Rizk, and Auger.  Maybe two defensemen coming back?  What happened to the offensive defenseman to replace DeAngelis, and the "tough guy" not to mention other players David hoped to get for the roster?

Everything will become clearer this week and next, but I'm a little concerned that the K's were'nt sure where Henley was going, and some other things that just don't quite add up.  I know that the K's are doing their best and will continue to do their best, but we may just be being fed the first morsel of life in the ECHL.

Eventually we will learn that Bob Ferguson is going to do what is best for Norfolk first, even though he had nice things to say about Fort Wayne.  The one constant is that ten minutes after the affiliation agreement was signed, all the beauty talk could ( didn't say would), but could fly right out the window.

I'm sure Ferguson is an honorable man.  I'd like to think that he will help the K's, too.

Interesting article and very thought provoking, also.

There are still guys being added to the TC roster which won't be announced until Friday and will likely change by Saturday. Like today, Al Sims, Colin Chaulk and David Franke are all making trips to the airport to pick up guys, including some new guys.

The 3-5 does not include Marino, Auger and Rizk, but are in addition to. Affiliations ALWAYS run downhill. There are so many players, most CHL teams will have guys assigned to them.

The turnover and roster changes this year are going to be constant. It's going to be ridiculous. The weather will change less than the roster. Don't forget, ANYBODY can be called up to the AHL, even if they aren't under a two-way contract. If somebody wants Chaulk, and he wants to go, he's gone. Just the way it's going to be, and it's that way on every team. Shoot, they may even call up a fan or two sometime. If the NHL lockout ends, it could get even busier, especially for a team like Anaheim with so many good young players.

I've had ECHL coaches tell me they don't even plan their practices until they get up in the morning to see who's been assigned where during the night.  Komets could go through 45 players this year, easy.

A fan or two being called up?  Looks like Alan could go up.  What about reporter/columnist call-ups? Hand cramps are an issue I hear.

Yeah, sure, nobody's going to take that statement the wrong way.

I hope they call up Off-Ice Officials! Not really!
