Has anyone besides myself actually read the ECHL rulebook???
If the contact was to the knee, as they said in this article, then "technically" according to Rule #44 of the ECHL rulebook for the 2012-13 season it IS a penalty and the Komets should have been awarded a 5 minute major penalty... There is no "gray area" to this rule. I posted the full rule in another thread or you can look it up yourself at the ECHL website...
