With only 8 Dmen in Norfolks camp, I would only expect 1 more dman from them. That probably leaves 2 spots open for rookies on the Komets roster. I thought Gates out played Kishel; but Gates is already mentioned as going to Pensecola... I wasnt overly impressed with Kishel, Nycolat or Atkins... Assuming from pre camp hype, that Kishel and Atkins will be the lucky 2....
Norfolk has 18 forwards still in camp...this is where we could see 3-4 players sent down... I like Firman and his possibilities around the net. I kept hoping to see him put into the 1st team PP last night; but it didnt happen... I think Firman stands a heck of alot better chance screening goalies than Smith or Schrock and he has good hands/vision... Sorry; but theres no way Schrock should be spending significant time on the PP this season... He's a 3rd line agitator and its time he fully embraced this role.
Will be interesting to see how this roster comes together before the 3pm Oct. 10th opening day roster deadline...

There are some really good players who will not make this team. Deepest camp in a long, long time. Really enjoyed watching the scrimmages, and I thought Sunday's game was very good.
