Looks as if they have released two players, added the two from Norfolk, and are going to play the IR game as long as possible.  From what I see it looks as if they are starting the season with just six defensemen.  No room, for error if that is correct.

My own uninformed opinion is that if this is "permanent" ( as much as permanent can be described in the ECHL), you would have to let go of Reiter as he is property of the Islanders and keep Cousineau (property of Anaheim)  and Effinger ( you need at least one goaltender you can control).

All three are good goaltenders.

Let the fun begin as the Komets open the season doing a balancing act.

I agree. If the lockout ends then you are looking at potentially losing Reiter or Cousineau. It would be unwise to get rid of Effinger who has the best chance of staying here in Fort Wayne. No matter how this pans out though I feel like it will be important to give the backup goalie more play time then what there was in the CHL. Festa did great stepping in at key times, but I felt like he could have done better with a little more play time. In the ECHL I feel like you almost need 2 primary goalies which I think we have no matter the goalie decision. This way if the lockout ends and a goalie gets called up you have that second "primary" goalie who has had some good play time and there isn't too much rustiness.

Just a question you can help with if a player is assigned to us does that player have to be in uniform for that team in less hurt or recalled??

Unless the new goalie is hurt why would the ducks let the komets put him on reserve. Wouldnt they want him playing?
