To me, it's never a good thing when the side proposing something declines to go into details, or when they say, ``We've given it our best shot.'' That sets the blarney monitor off in a hurry.

I feel 50% is a fair offer, however throwing it out there the way they did will make the players just look greedy if they don't take it. They are trying to win the fans over by saying "Look, we made them an offer. If the players accept, you will have Hockey. If not.............".
My gut thinking is the players will accept the 50% of hockey related revenue offer. But I'm not sure they can agree on what is considered "hockey related revenue". If that is not a stumbling block then I think everything will proceed. Two separate issues, % of revenue and what each side considers revenue.
