Robinson was injured Sunday (MCL) and will be out for awhile....

I had to chuckle when I read that part of the strategy for limiting Robinson's chances were to "put a body on him". As far as I can remember, there were only 2 times in the last 2 games that we did that. The first was when Maggio decked him after the whistle 2 games ago and then last game when Nycholat tackled him behind our net. Other than that, we won't hit him.
I remember last year for 1 game we really went after him. Not in a dirty way, but we checked him hard into the boards every chance we got. I believe that he took 3 slashing penalties that game out of frustration. Now we are back to giving him whatever space he wants and we get results like this past weekend.
Another comment I found intriguing was that we just let him stand there on the power play so he doesn't pass it and make it a 4 on 3. The way I see it, we just sit back and let them set up their PP while they attack ours so that we can't set it up. I don't think it takes a genius to figure out why they scored on the PP and we didn't . Kromm knows that we will sit back on the PK and that if he attacks our PP we are totally ineffective. Pretty simple. I say great coaching on his part.
There is no doubt that Robinson is a great player, but I would guess that one of the reasons that he isn't in a higher league is because of his size. The reason that being small hurts is that you can get pushed off the puck easier than someone like Rizk or Brittain. So why don't we push him off the puck?
One last point.....I take my hat off Smith for standing up when Gens, not once but twice, face washed and decked Marino, our leading scorer. My questions are: 1. Where was Henley the rest of the game when both Gens brothers were yapping at Smith and everyone else? Why can't he skate up and let them know that if they want to mess around with someone it can be him? We need him to play that role. He can be physical and he can set the tone so that our skill guys don't have to put up with a bunch of cheap stuff. He just hasn't done that. 2. They take out Auger and go after Marino, our top 2 scorers. Why can't we drive Robinson hard into the boards? Or hit him with a legal hip check? Or put a glove in his face and push him down to the ice? Will Evansville retaliate? Absolutely! Then we get the power plays. Or we could just let Robinson skate around and continue to let the Gen's brothers rough up our skill guys.

Whole-In-One, you couldn't say it any better. I do believe that the Gens brothers do try to purposely try to take our top players out of the games by dirty plays, but I also believe that them targeting our top players is the way we need to start acting more. I mean that by clean hard checks and getting under there skin. Robinson is a cry baby and takes many many slashing penalties in retaliation and he is also known for being thrown out of games for unsportsmanlike conduct by whining to the refs. We need I take advantage of that. I remember when Beauragard did that to our players when he played for Wichita, Bennefield did that too before he came here. I wonder if its a coaching thing or just a different role they played here but I wish Beauragard would start doing it again.

Wow, just looked at Todd's stats. At minus 16(did I read that correctly Blake) he is not beating anyone by himself. A guy that can score is a great thing. A guy that doesn't play in his own end is poison. He is an assist guy just like Colin. Take away his options by staying with your man and not trying to do everyone else's job is how to handle this guy. He will cough it up for another minus.
