The Komets are getting defenseman Gabe Guentzel in tonight from Norfolk. He's 6-0, 187 pounds and is supposed to have some offensive skill. He has one assist in six games with the Admirdals.
He's 24, and played at Colorado College. He played 12 games last year with Syracuse of the AHL after finishing his college career.
That means Nick Schaus is going to stay in Norfolk for the weekend, and likely longer, though he has yet to play in a game yet.
According to General Manager David Franke, Brett Smith is battling a sinus infection but practiced today and is expected to play Thursday. Josh Brittain may not be able to go, though, because of a bum ankle.
