Tailing the Komets

Wow! Again

Somehow Kenny Reiter got across his crease again to deflect a shot. This time the puck is next to his water bottle.

Michael Franke was on Jim Shovlin's morning show.  He is not a happy man.

One thing that he said was that there is no reciprocal agreement in the ECHL.  The poor scoring on this team will make them look for players who can put the puck in the net, stay out of the penalty box, and improve this team.  ( Look out Shrock and Thorne.  I'd be looking over my shoulder a little.)

So, for those who say "where can you find players this late in the season?"  A lot of possibilities just opened up.  Of course, no reciprocal agreement means other leagues can take our players, too.  I have to admit that I didn't know about that fact.

Let the changes proceed.

Alan, I agree with you assesment of Scrock and Thorne. Quite frankly I don't understand why Schrock seems to get a free pass from fans.  If he wasn't a hometown boy, I don't think he'd have a job in pro hockey.  I'm sure he is highly paid, and for what?  One measly assist?  They count on him for seondary scoring and bottom line, he isn't producing.  Everyone will go on to say "he fights and hits and brings energy".  I'm saying, you can bring in lots of players that will do that, for way less money.

I commented last year that Schrock was over rated and I was quite surprised he lasted the season. It is apparent the situation has not changed. Time to check the waiver wire and other sources.

Thorne and schrock are not on this team to score. If they can produce that's a plus. They are defense and energy first. Why do you think they play against the top lines every night of against opposing teams? Depth is a good thing. If you have all snipers and playmakers on your team and no offensive defensive players you will not be successful. In my opinion, we need players like them. If we could get better defensive players than schrock and Thorne, then yes I would think it would be worth it, but to get rid of our top defensive forwards for scorers is not going to help us. We are already lacking in our defense and that is why we are not scoring. It takes good defense to give opportunities for us to score. Just my thoughts.

No changes are needed. This team is built to win.

Staytrue81, since Schrock scored 20 his rookie season everyone seems to think he had an offensive upside.  Well, I've seen better hands on a clock, than what he shows on the ice.  He can't handle the puck and even catch a pass on his backhand.  The team was counting on him for at least ten goals, and he will be lucky to come close to that...he is being paid second line+ money and is showing he barely belongs...
