Legends game details

-The Komets announced today that the Komet Legends will face the Toledo Legends in an Alumni Game to be held at Toledo Sunday Feb. 17.

Fans can watch generations of former Komet stars battle long-time rivals of Toledo hockey greats at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo at 2pm with the doors opening at 1pm.  The Alumni game will be followed by a Fort Wayne Komets vs. Toledo Walleye ECHL game.

The Toledo and Fort Wayne legends will skate three 20-minute running periods with the ice resurfaced between the second and third stanzas.

The players—Some of the Komet legends expected to appear in the game are Kevin Bertram, Kelly Perrault, Ron Leef, Martin Burgers, John Hilworth, Steve Fletcher, Carey Lucyk, Adam Lewis and Chad Dameworth.  Robbie Irons, George Drysdale, Reg Primeau and Chuck Adamson will serve as Komet Legends coaches.

Toledo Alumni expected to attend are Ted Tucker, Jim McCabe, Derek Booth, Nick Vitucci, Dan Watson and former Komet goaltender Doug Teskey, who skated for the Toledo Storm in the ECHL after a three-year stint with the Komets from 1999-2002 in the UHL.

Special ticket packages for Fort Wayne fans—The Toledo Walleye are offering Fort Wayne fans special ticket prices for the double-header event of $13 per ticket for both games.  Tickets can be ordered online by

The Toledo Alumni will give away Hockey Heritage posters, showing Toledo Blades great Chick Chalmers in a game against the Komets from 1964, to the first 1,500 fans entering the building.

Following the Alumni game, the current day Komets will face the Toledo Walleye in an ECHL match at 5:05pm.  The Komets and division rival Walleye are currently tied for second place in the North Division and continue to battle for playoff position as the season enters the second half of the 2012-13 campaign.

Hey Blake i was wondering if the komets would go after a d-man like Ryan Turek who was released by South Carolina today.. I know they are looking for a d-man who can bring offense to the table ..
