Tailing the Komets

Still more roster moves

Looks like Ryan Hegarty, Garrett Klotz and Matt Kennedy have been recalled to Norfolk and the Komets have signed John Dunbar and Ron Cramer from Pensacola of the SPHL afer all, according to the ECHL website.

Cincinnati also lost last night's goaltender Zoltan Hetenyi to a recall.

Pensacola also had this intersting roster move yesterday: ADD Bradtmueller, Mark () added as emergency goaltender. Bones!

Even more interesting is that we couldn't get  this guy to come back to Fort Wayne http://www.echl.com/stats/player.php?id=1174

If you've ever followed this league which my guess would be that you haven't. You'd notice in previous years that teams can't just go out and sign the highest of calber of players. They either have to find players in lower level leagues like the SPHL or FHL and maybe a player who just finished playing in juniors and wan'ts to pursue the pro's. Also before the start of this season the ECHL and CHL had an agreement that teams could not pluck players from one anothers league. There have been some teams signing players this season from the CHL but probably not as much as players from the SPHL. I would just guess that players in the CHL are more content to stay with their CHL team because they know they'll have a job for more then maybe a week. While a player in the SPHL is just looking for a chance to show what he has. The SPHL also has a much younger league compared to the CHL...Oh and a FHL and former SPHL player scored the winning goal in the shootout last night. Not to bad if you ask me. Before long there could be some trickle down effect once the NHL teams set their rosters before next Saturdays openers.

WRONG!!! You are not an AHL ticket holder. You have been watching higher level players all year. The players that are coming here now would be.On any other year be an echl player.

Management must feel they will be getting some of these players back soon. I see Syro signed with FLA, tristin Llewelyn signed with another team in the league and so on. What about Leo? Before everyone jumps me, I know he's not the answer by any means. My thoughts are why not bring in a few guys with familiarity with the systems, that's all I mean. Unless they're only going be here for a week or so.

Also I saw a few teams loaned players to Norfolk on the transaction page. Who would get players back 1st? Us or them?

If they are under contract to those teams, they will go back to those teams.

Reiter has the flu. Imagine if the flu comes on now, that would be all they need.

Lasch and Brittain have scored for Norfolk tonight.  I believe as soon as the NHL season starts things will settle down for a while as far as roster moves go.  At least until NHL players start getting hurt.

Syro did not and won't come back becasue the Ks owners screwed him around with his playoff money and some other "bonues" payments if you ask him. For that matter ask any player from his last season about playoff money. Ask a player about the "strike" before a game that Guy D had to take care of with the owners before the players would take the ice.
