Matt Kennedy comes back

The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals and ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets, announced today that RW Matt Kennedy has been reassigned from the Admirals to the Komets.

Kennedy, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, has appeared in nine games with the Admirals this season, recording 17 penalty minutes. In 10 games with Fort Wayne earlier this season, Kennedy recorded an assist and six penalty minutes.

The 23-year-old Richmond Hill, Ontario, native has played 120 career AHL games between the Syracuse Crunch, Charlotte Checkers and Norfolk Admirals, netting six goals, 15 assists and 152 penalty minutes.

Kennedy was a fifth-round selection (131st overall) of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The Anaheim Ducks acquired Kennedy along with Stefan Chaput in exchange for Ryan Carter on November 23, 2010. Kennedy played 260 games of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League between the Guelph Storm and Barrie Colts, netting 90 goals and 178 points.

Blake, anything on a defenseman since Norfolk is well stocked with them?

Not yet. They have eight on the roster, but I'm not sure if all of them are healthy. Just talked to David Franke and he said a d-man is still a possibility. We'll see.

They should have 9 defensemen, Ducks sent Hampus Lindhom to Norfolk 2 days ago. Seams like they could help us out. After all it is a 2 way street. thanks blake

Just what the Komets needed, another forward that can't score or fight.

Where's Ahmed Mahfouz? Is his "paperwork" taking too long?

Im stating to think that Norfolk really doenst give a hoot about us, I think this owner needs to align with a couple of teams in the AHL next year, I think that being aligned with the right NHL teams is the biggest challenge in this league, We didnt have to worry about all this player movement and veterans in the CHL but the brand of hoclkey and the compitition is by far better

We have had good players from our affiliate; but everyone said they were aweful, even though we were winning more than we were losing and in the playoff hunt while they were here........

Sometimes loyalty can be a bad thing......
