At the game last night. Komets are an average team defensively but really stink offensively. I'm not sure if lack of talent or lack of heart.  They lack speed, size and intensity. A bad combination. Unless they get more players from the AHL they are going to need to make their tee time early. IMO.

I guess I don't get it Al...

``You don't play the best team in the division and hold them to a 1-1 game unless you are playing your (butts) off. They are the best team, and we gave them all I think they can handle.''

Was this from last night's game, or from Feb 2nd when we won 7-2? We didn't give them all they could handle; we under whelmed them to sleep! It's time to take off the kid gloves and light a fire under some butts! The most action last night was in the crowd yelling at some jerk for standing up during the play...not on the ice, and no where close to the back of the bench!

I do know that Al has more hockey knowledge in his pinky toe than I will ever have in my life, but he must think this team if even more fragile than anyone else. In years past he would rip them after a big win because they gave up one soft goal. This year we get puppy dogs and flowers from him when we “win a period” or lose a close one…I don’t get it.

GOALTENDING INCONSISTENCY-seriously 4 goaltenders this year when last year we basically had 1

Nice to see you Charlie, sad to say you most likely will be going to the CHL next year, as well might Bouch.

Syro with Marino, seriously, he cannot keep up, nor can Chaulk and getting back defensively to help out, REALLY

Kudos to Cincinnati.  They knew just how to shut us down offensively.  They physically beat Marino up all game.  If you ask me, that is smart coaching.  Most of our offense comes through him and they completely took him out of the game.  Could there have been a few penalties called on some of the hits?  Probably, but the ref let it go and Cincinnati used that to their advantage.  Well played, well played.

Wonder why we can't do that to other teams?  You could shut down Evansvilles offense by doing the same to Robinson.  Our coaches strategy is to let him roam freely and then let his teamates stand uncontested in front of our net.  I guess that is a snapshot of our whole plan this season.  Hmmmmmm.  Well, anyways, I guess I am beating a dead horse there again.

I was also really excited to hear that Michael Jordan was joing the team.  All 5'9" of him!  Just what we need on the back end to push  6'3"  220 forwards off the puck!  I'm sure he is a beast at clearing out the front of the net as well.  Nothing against him.  He's probably a great guy but.......really??? 5'9"  169 lbs?

Why is it that every team that we play is bigger and more physical than us?  Can we not recruit big, physical players who have the skill to compete in this league?  Are we the only ones?  Is it our attendance numbers and too much pressure playing in front of all of us?  Is the cold weather scaring them away?  Too much snow and ice perhaps?

Ok, sarcasm aside.......Last year the leadership of this team watched the ECHL playoffs and their big callout afterwards was how big, fast, and physical the players were.  Blake, please help a brother out here and help us get some answers as to why, after knowing what the league was like, that we end up with the smallest, least physical team that i have seen in the last 20 years.

I realize that this is our first year in the league but we didn't go in blind.  We knew what it was going to take to compete.  Bottom line is that we are not competing now and, not once, has our coach/director of player personnel taken any responsibility whatsoever for the performance of his team.

I really hope that we make the playoffs but our lack of passion and fire on our own home ice isn't giving the fans much optimism.

Dear "whole".....answer to some of your bigger guys question has been answered by Blake in his 12:10am comment under the Komets tie it up header.

Wow, maybe we can get another LeGault back...would'nt that be nice....or say a 6'7" guy.....hmmmmm....he could certainly move folks from in front of the net.

The Komets have a gave up... last night game sucked the komets never showed up to play and lacked a lot and the Frankes are a joke about they can only sign us players because there are teams that waive a player the next day they sign with somebody else ..

"Most of those are from affiliated players. Where are they supposed to go to get these new players?"

"It's also an example of how the league bends over backwards to help affiliated teams and it's tougher for indepenent teams."

Well we are an affiliated team, so I guess we should be ok?  These other teams that are affiliated are big, fast, skilled, and physical.  Why are we the only ones struggling with this then?  Something doesn't make sense here.

Example....Evansville goes out recently and signs Matt Krug...220 lbs defensemen, who played a solid game against us and threw more checks that night than our entire team.  We go out and sign 5'9" dman who sits on the bench half the game.  Other teams are signing 'AA' level guys that have an impact while we are waiting on 'A' level players (Hoban, Dunbar, etc)to get healthly so we can field a full lineup?

Can't blame it on being their first year in the ECHL. Prior to this season, Kalamazoo had been winning the division each year since they started in 2009. Things never go exactly as planned, but surely the Komets, with all the experience the Frankes and Sims possess, could have done well too if they had played their cards right.

Legault?  Seriously? He couldn't skate a regular shift in the IHL let alone the CHL or ECHL.

Dear Andy, to bad you cannot recognize someone being facetious in a comment....look it up if you need to.

You know whats funny reading all these comments about the K's stinking offensively is that for those of us that go to all the games we see those trying and producing.....Marino, Smith, Firman, Rizk, Wheeler, Dunbar, Charlie and Kenny....the rest, need to try harder...these guys are making the effort.....notice most are the smaller part of the lineup.
