Seriously Mike Franke "we have had questionable goal tending early on"....well duh....we have had 5 goaltenders during this year so far.....last year we had basically one in Bouch......we picked Charlie and he has not had a real chance to get established this entire year due to stops and starts because of HAVING to play goalies sent down...wih the exception of Reiter playing we should have grown a pair and played Charlie most of the rest of the season so he would have been better prepared to play now going into the playoffs.....really Mike Franke, do you think we were born yesterday...OMG, I hear that same excuse over and over....maybe your affiliated teams are sending you a message after the pre-supposed prior disagreements with them....wow try and talk to the fans like we actually KNOW what is going on.

One other thing Komets management, if this new NHL goalie is that good why are we 2-3 in our last five....he should be winning all close games....sorry, I am still a K's fan but would like to hear the truth from our owners once in a while.

Sorry, but we are 2-3 in the last 5 not because of our goalie, but because of our lack of goals scored by the rest of the team. These past few games would not have been as close if it was not for a great goalie between the pipes! I am a fan of Effer's, but we have a great goalie right now, you play him!

NEWS FLASH:

Fact:  You have to score to win.....

Fact:  Deslauriers has a 1.65 GAA and a .942 SAV%........those numbers are phenomenal...

Fact:  Effinger's numbers are the worst of the 4 goalies used by the Komets this season... (3.72/.884)

Not sure how anyone could question the talent and play of  this goaltender!  He is the difference in this team winning or losing.  His stats are incredible, his attitude is remarkable, and I hope he is here the rest of the season.  Holy cow, who/sez, the only thing he hasm't done is score a goal.

For those still posting or viewing these comments,  you missed the point, Charlie could have been that goalie had he been playing CONSISTENTLY.....thats all, nothing more and nothing less....he should have been allowed to play consistently and that is a let down to me because he could have, had we had stronger management somewhere in that chain of command.

the only fact is the one that all of you keep forgetting''''''''''''''''''''''we are an affiliate and charlie is a free agent signing.    doesnt matter how good he is or isnt   we will play the affiliated player until they prove they cant and you sure cant complaign (sp) when the nhl team send a goalie dirrctly here.

Well then, maybe we need to reconsider our affiliation status next year.i

Kenny playerd the most because he EARNED that time in the net.  He was consistently stealing games for the team.  I'm sorry SUZ, but your argument doesn't hold water.  All three of the goalies had their chance and the simple fact is Reiter embraced his chance while Effinger and Cousineau did not (more due to injury than anything).  Last time Charlie played three games in a row, he let in 16 goals or something like that.  LOL...Sorry...

Charlie given a chance is a good goalie and last year we feared him in the playoffs and you certainly need to give a goalie more than a few (3) games to gain consistency.

Look at the year we had Bouch and Reiter, neither had their grove on but both played well.

Nuff sad, we wish him well because he is most likely gone next year.....best of luck Charlie.

Agreed, we most likely will not see him back here.  I do agree that while he hasn't had much of a chance to play as consistently, there were time he did play, when he struggled.  Probably a combo of many factors, but it is what it is...

"Seriously Mike Franke "we have had questionable goal tending early on"....well duh..."

That set my teeth on edge too. I don't think Charlie was solely responsible for his stats, not by a long shot. Considering he's had to step aside every time somebody sends a goalie in here, he's done better than they could have.

I'll take it farther - I haven't loved the move to the ECHL. This year was screwed up by the NHL lockout, but it's more than that. All the comings and goings haven't led to a cohesive team. You never know what team you'll see from night to night. Same with the teams we play. The player you love to hate may not be there the next time we see them. So no rematch. Individual players are good, but they remain just that, individual players stuffed in a Komets sweater. They come, then they go. I know it's a done deal, and people keep saying this is better hockey. I don't see it. We've lost as much as we've gained and the games aren't as much fun.

So to Mike Franke and some of you experts: That core group of CHL players is the biggest thing that's kept us coming to games. New players are fine, but they need to stay more than a game or two. Otherwise better isn't really better at all.
