If AA hockey is AA hockey, it appears that recruitment just laid an egg this year. The players are pretty sure this team would have been bad in the CHL. I'm glad that we don't have to sit through more quotes about how the ECHL is responsible for the Komets not making the playoffs.

Funny how the AA hockey is AA hockey line has been dusted off and brought back out now that the season is over....  Hasnt been used, that I can remember, since around December...

More speed, better goaltending, better depth, bigger and more talented players, does not normally lead one to believe that things are equal...

Seems they all agree the E is different from the C.....but somehow it's the same?

I wanted to see what the players said now after they've been through it, to see if their thoughts had changed.

I understand Blake; but when 2 of your goalies who were great last season in the CHL were below average in the ECHL that does not scream out that the two levels are the same... IMO

Well, I think I'd also argue that the Komets' defense was much superior last year as a whole. Losing Bryant Molle might have been the biggest blunder the Komets made in the off-season. If you've got Bryant, then Brent Henley is happy and you can make Tyler Butler and Daniel Maggio your No. 2 pairing and that's as good as any top four pairing in the division for certain and is competitive in the league.  Then you can go with Ryan Hegarty and maybe Schaus as a No. 3 pairing. Not bad.

When an NHL goaltender is getting lit up, you can't blame everything on the goaltending.

Reiter didnt get "lit up" and Deslauriers only started to get "lit up" when the team had quit...

If you're arguing that the ECHL is the same os the CHL I would be very surprised....

Not at all. I am suggesting that the defense in the CHL was probably better overall because of more veterans. It was rare to have one rookie on the blueline there. Each ECHL team seems to have a minimum of three. I'd take the experienced player every day.

No matter what our goaltending situation will be next year,We will not have Jeff Deslauriers back. He was just traded to Minnesota for future considerations. Good Luck Jeff. I had a blast watching you play.
