We had a great time last night, but I wonder how much Chase was saying about the players coming back was true? I think about half of the guys he said something like, "He's gonna look great next year in this same sweater."
Was that him trying to sell the jersey a little higher or does he know something we don't already.
Pure bluster.
I always enjoy going to the auction to watch how the players interact with each other and with fans. This group was particularly interesting to observe. Charlie Effinger could make a killing in sales or just as easily be loved as a politician. He's got about as charasmatic of a personality as I can remember from a player in quite some time. Butler definately earned the respect of his teammates.
Pretty interesting that the Norfolk guys all bugged out immidately.
Charlie was great. Always a fun person to talk to. I'm sure that attitude helped him get thru such a rough season. His antics kind of reminded me of Starenky from last year. Love going to these events and interacting with the players (and the Coach). Especially after they've had a few drinks. lol
I put the over under at last year's total.
