Were you witnessing history as Komets finished off the 1993 sweep?
I was there!! Brings back alot of memories!!
One of the greatest games I have witnessed all time.
I was rinkside in the old Section 60, first row.
I was setting in the visitors penalty box. It was the most excited I have ever been up to that point in my life. The noise was unbelieveable. That was a great bunch of guys. Fantastic memories!
JR, were you able to find out how the Komets were doing from over there?
Yeah; but much delayed...lol My parents sent me all the clippings and recorded anything on TV they could and sent them to me...
Amazingly different world today.
Much, much different....
It took either a very expensive phone call home or waiting for a month or more for mail to catch up to you overseas to find anything out...
absolutly I was there. I caught a puck that game and its shadow boxed with ticket stubs and photo of Gruhl hoisting cup. A lot of people forget that the Wizards were at home that night and had finished their game shortly before the Komets. They won 12-0 weird or what??? did the mayor ever get his fish tacos from the San Diego Mayor??
For the record, game three was the game of the year. Lucyk's pass to Grugh then his poster of Malarchuck....wow.... In game 4 you could see the Gull's old NHL legs going. It was anti climatic by the start of the 3 rd period. There were so many players that stepped up and played great a series.
I never missed a playoff game. The best Komets playoff team I have ever seen. Great memories.
Schebig had me in handcuffs.
Kids were too small so i had to hear chaser on this little transistor radio that i actually built. Nerd Alert.
i was sitting in section 28 row 1 rooting on my favorite komet of all time, Lee "harley" Davidson, along with his linemates Ian Boyce and Peter Hankinson!!
Boicie, Harley and Hank.....59 goals for our "checking line" (regular season and playoffs)......the best ever
Sec 2 row D, was a mere 6 but remember it well. Orange and black streamers everywhere.
