In the first period of Game 2, please do every hockey fan a favor and call two diving penalties. Call one each on both teams, I don't care, but please call them. Why are you letting hockey become the NBA with flopping? The rule is in the blasted book so use it! Call it twice and we'll never have to worry about it again in this series because the players will adjust.
Why are they flopping so much? Because your refs keep falling for it. Chicago's 5-on-3 last night was the direct result of two flops. So basically, players can beat the tar out of each other with slashes, cross checks and punches to the face as long as no one flops to the ice and nothing will be called. Tap someone and they fall to the ice like a wussy soccer player with a paper cut and something gets called immediately. Yeah, that makes sense.
Your officiating is a joke, and I could care less who wins. I just want to see great hockey.
So please, call it twice early and we won't have to see it again.

Chicago's 5 on 3 was a result of Boston's (1) interference @ 7:37 (which may have been a flop) and (1) too many men @ 8:20. I don't know how you can flop a too many men.

I thought the game was a hard fought battle on both sides with Boston having more quality scoring opportunities.
I agree with TheBauer. Good game to watch. Glad the Hawks pulled it out though!
I'm talking specifically about the cross checking in front of the Boston net where they guy practically laid his stick down before laying down on the ice, and the O'Chara high sticking where he hit the guy in the chest and the Chicago player threw his head back. Those are definitely flops.
Chara drilled Shaw with that cross check to the upper chest/neck area....he is also twice Shaw size.... Go find someone half your size and then cross check them high and see what happens....
A little embelishment, yes; but it was also a penalty to Chara....
Call the dives on plays where there are no penalties to go along with the dive....
I don't think zdeno gives the butt end of a goalie stick how tall you are. He's protects the net. Shaw is an armed combatant and legal to smear. If they went fist to fist, I think zdeno would laugh and pat Shaw on the back.
You are wrong Blake. When the Hawk player threw his head back he was protecting his face. I am pretty sure you would do the same thing if you had a stick come up into your chest not knowing if was going to go any higher. The officiating has been terrible the entire playoffs.
