I'm very happy to read more about Scott Fleming.  To me, the signings yesterday, made the Komets a  serious contender.

Chris Auger brings the Komets a versatile hockey player.  His speed, scoring, and experience (both on the ice and in the locker room) is a precious commodity.  A bonus is the fact that he's bringing a friend with him.  Yesterday my only doubts about Scott Fleming centered on why he gave up the game of hockey.  Was he commited to the game, or was he going to give a half hearted effort and then run back to the real world?

This article (and it is a very good one) explained a lot and answered those questions for me.  He sounds like a skillful, talented, appreciative player who may do many good things as a Komet.  Both he and Auger bring some health issues to training camp, but we have to have faith that both have been cleared for the game of hockey.  Aside from the injury issues ( and, of course, it is always concerning) it appears that the Komets have found a potential gem to add to a group of pretty decent forwards.  It helps that they both are such good friends as it will be much easier for Fleming to mesh with the team and surroundings by having someone to talk with, lean on, and learn from.

I'm glad to read that Rizk is still having conversations with the Komets.  He is the next signing I hope to see announced.  I love the fact that Gary Graham has set his sights on a #1 goaltender, an offensive defenseman, and a high scoring forward.

So far, so good for the roster.  I'm happy with how it is shaping up.

My wish list still contains the signing of Rizk and the surprise signing of Mike Vaskivuo.

The two young defensemen announced yesterday with their nice credentials, along with the size of last week's additions , give me optimism that the blueline will be well taken care of.

Somewhere it was stated that the K's have signed 15 players out of the 24 contracts.  Does that mean another 9 players will be signed?  If so, we should remember that only two of the four veteran spots have been filled.  I'm going to be anxious to see how this roster continues and if it will solve the goal scoring woes of last season.

How do the rest of you feel?

like every year the team looks different on paper than what it will turn out to be on the ice but i like the makeup so far, lots of speed and some size on the defense. now hopefully those speed guys can put the biscuit in the net and the big d guys can move people and drop the gloves.  time will tell.  the goalie signing will probably be the important sign and the two vet spots hopefuly will be snipers.

I read that Auger went to the same college for 4 years as Schaus, umass lowell, I cant believe he cant get his "other buddy to come to the Komets, I know its early and teams are hoping that guys like him will be availabe later. (I heard its called pigeon holed). I guess Chris couldnt land a better paying place then Fort Wayne, from what Ive heard he did try though.
