Hmmm, Flemming (concussion), Auger (better but still not well?) and Hughes (hurt last year - unknown injury)...hope they are all well and can play the whole season.

Goalies?

Vets?

Hughes size? HMMM.

I love to see offense.  Anybody that knows me or has read my comments know that I'm all for having "snipers".  Still, I'm not totally sure how to react to this acquisition.  His playoff stats of last season were just out of sight.  His experience, while still not being a "veteran" is certainly a plus.  I certainly defer to the wisdom of Coach Graham and am impressed as he analyzes a guy being "a great half wall" guy.

Why am I having a problem with all of this?  Simply because I don't know the price we paid.  It doesn't sound like it is a cash consideration as Rob Murray ( Coach of Alaska ) states that he's sure the deal will make Alaska better this next season.  Sounds like a player is going, doesn't it?

I guess that's my problem.  It's hard for me to get excited about this until all the facts are in.

Franke states that the future considerations will be announced Friday.  I will admit that I know next to nothing about this kind of wheeling and dealing.  It just, in my mind, sounds as if a player signed or the rights to a player not yet signed are going to be transferred to Alaska.  The only player(s) whose ECHL rights belong to the Komets and remains unsigned is Maggio or Rizk.

So until the deal is complete, I will hold on my judgement.

Remember that the deal that brought Pepin to the K's from San Francisco was a "future condiderations" deal also.  I'm always a little uncomfortable when there are loose ends to be tied up.

By the way, it's refreshing to read that Graham attended a free agent camp.  It sounds as if he's staying aggressive.
