Tailing the Komets

Muse could be gone a while

Komets goaltender John Muse has only been gone two days, but he's already the No. 1 goaltender in Charlotte of the AHL. The Checkers lost one goaltender to injury and another was recalled today after a Carolina goalie got hurt last night.

Good thing Max Strang was waiting in Bloomington for the Komets to call. He's looked really sharp the last two days in practice.

Also, Mike Vaskivuo and Jace Coyle will be activated for Saturday's game. Vaskivuo will be playing center, not wing.

Interesting to me that Charlotte calls up Muse and Clemente.  I know that Muse isn't property of Charlotte, don't know about Clemente.  Charlotte did send a goaltender to Florida (ECHL).  Seems as if they don't have confidence in their own organization.

Looking forward to seeing Vaskivuo and Coyle.  Hope Vaskivuo is healthy and physically prepared.  Thinking maybe he may aggravate the injury.

Allen York (Eville) signed by Charlotte to a PTO....

According to the Evansville website, JR is correct.  York has been called up to Charlotte.  No mention about Clemente being gone, so it begs the question: Did Charlotte call up both of Evansville's goaltenders?  Seems strange to do that to any team (especially when they've called up Muse).

Still, nothing surprises me when it comes to minor league hockey.

Alan,

I think the reason they called up Muse is because they are very familar with him.
