Seems like on an earlier series of postings Reichard was being criticized for letting in several long goals....seems we have that problem with this goalie....go back to playing Reichard.....thought Graham said in one of his interviews that he was not going to accept a goalie?

Check stats out who/suz....

Makarov = 1.52 GAA in 2 games...
Reichard = 3.39 GAA in 2 games...

Reichard missed clear view shots... Makarov's misses were with several players stacked in front of him... If you haven't been watching, you may have missed that...

Of course, I have to remember that this is coming from the same source that thought Effinger was a good goalie at this ECHL level...

Who/suz, Dont blame Makarov, he is a great goalie. Im here in Vegas and neither goals was his fault. You can thank King for a backhand blind pass from our corner out front to vegas player for winning goal. Makarov had no chance and King knew it was his fault. Makarov will win alot of games for us. Stop being so negitive all the time.

and look at what having goalies other than Charlie, NHL guy for one did for us in 2012/2013..u r not always as smart as u think u r....nuff said

Yep, because Charlie's 3.55 GAA average was going to win us so many games in a full season, right?

Your insistence on playing mediocre players in a competitive league boggles the mind....

P. S.- above comments coming from someone who looks like he is only a statistics guy....certainly not a positive believer in the K's, this early in the season...."this will be another long season".....very positive indeed....nuff said

Stats look bad when they do not support your position, then they become something you can look down upon...

Many fans put worth of a player on how good of a guy he is... Many fans, like myself, put a players worth to that of how well he contributes on the ice...

I want what's best for the crest on the front of the jersey, not the nameplate on the back...

and yet this from someone who :"wants whats best for the crest on the front" the positive comment stated again earlier "this will be another long season" sure seems like an oxymorn to me...maybe you need that explained to you

and you never know...the 3.55 gaa might have helped during the past  season....only letting him play and get better would have proved  that one way or the other

If you've read my stuff you know that I believe in these forwards.  That doesn't mean that I can't be wrong, nor does it mean that I think standing "pat" is the way to go if improvements can be made.  As it stands today (before the third game in Vegas), the Komets have scored 13 goals in five games (2.60).  What was the average last season?  It was close to this, and one of the worst in Komet history.

It's very early and I'm not going to freak out just yet.  The fact is that only a handful of forwards are really a threat, and another handful just aren't pulling their weight statistically.  For those looking for a change, nothing will get done before Wednesday's game at the earliest.  My philosophy is to always get better if you have a chance.  Sometimes only a few games are needed to recognize a weakness.  Have we reached that point?  For the players, they have today to show something.

The defense is giving up 3.1+ per game.  ( Includes one empty net goal, and two more statistically included by the shootout losses).

Stats don't explain everything, to be fair.  Take Evansville.  They are 3-1.  Scored only eight goals (four of those in the win against Fort Wayne).  Given up only ten.

So here's a question.  Who do you start in goal for the K's?  Makarov has the better stats.  Reichard needs to get in a game.  This early- in- the- season game is important and supplies us with some intrigue.  Who would you start?  I think I would start Reichard  today, go with Marakov Wednesday morning, then probably Marakov again next Friday.  What will Graham decide?

When will David Franke think enough is enough when it comes to scoring?

Nothing from the blue line.  Coyle seems to the D-man with the best shot of the group.  Being fair to the "D", it's true they've only given up three goals in two games.  Who couldn't live with that?

Any ideas?

Look up the word "oxymoron" in the dictionary partner and you will see the error in your above statement... I believe contradiction would do better in your post;but even that would be incorrect...

Making a statement that this could be a long season weeks ago and defending myself against absurd comments today regarding my belief in the Komets are two different things entirely.

Alan,

I would put Hughes back in the lineup and sit Schrock... Reason being, I think they are probably both close as far as salary cap hits go... There is a group of several forwards who could sit for lack of production..

Let Pokoluk back in from purgatory and sit Kwiet...

Reichard starts today...

If they lose again today to a bad Vegas team, you have to start looking at options, imo...

First, I am not your partner, do not flatter yourself.  Second contradictory is the word I wanted you to come up with about yourself, thus the term misuse......thank you very much.

Hmmm, seems strange for someone to pick a goalie with 3.39 gaa v. a goalie with 1.52 gaa (stats from YOUR prior comments), especially someone who "missed clear view shots"  seems that your pick would have been Makarov based on " how well he contributes on the ice" ......talk about ABSURD....you need to look up that definition!

I would of course play Reichard because I am an armchair quarterback, who supports playing mediocre players and support the name on the back versus the crest on the front.  Unlike last year, I hope one of these goalies gets some continuity of play instead of the sporadic play the goalies had last year.

Lol partner....

I picked Reichard only because I wouldn't play any goalie 3 games in a row on a weekend
