Tailing the Komets

Lyon left the team

From Komets General Manager David Franke:

``Brett Lyon got suspended because he quit the team. We will see if we can make a trade in the league or we'll just put him through waivers. He just decided to quit the team this afternoon.

``He doesn't like the role that he's in. I told him he's only been here two or three games and he hasn't given us long enough to figure it out.  He wasn't happy and he quit.''

More from Gary Graham:

``Brett was one of those guys in a short amount of time he decided that he wants to be more than just a physical guy. He sees himself as a playmaker, too. Given more time here in the system we might have been able to see that in him, but right now we don't have ice time for him in the top nine spots. That's what he's looking for and what he wants.

``I told him I needed some time to see what he can do. You just can't throw guys out blind in what we're trying to teach. You want to put players in the best spot to be successful, and that's what I was trying to communicate with Brett. I think he made a rash decision. He wants something that I can't give him right now. He had a regular shift on Sunday before he got kicked out.''

Lyon had been in Fort Wayne for one practice.

Good, Komets dont need another loser on the team.He had 4 shifts Friday and turned the puck over 2 times. Sunday a bone head play during fight, he took off his elbow pads and got a game misconduct. He knows thats a rule and cost the team. Not very smart. Bye Bye

I couldn't disagree more.  For him to quit the team this early is ridiculous.

To me, he just opens up another roster spot, along with Firman and Tuzzolino.  They may be great guys, they may have plenty of upside ( I doubt it), they may have a lot of future success ( I hope so for their sake), but this is an opportunuty for the Komets to shore up their defense and plug holes in the lineup without losing ANY skill.

If he was fine but leaving Team like that
It shows Disrespect to the Team&Manage -
ment. And the Fans It also shows a lack of
Professionalism. But on with other business.
Blake when we see Tristan King back in
The line-up.

King may be the next one to go. He is too slow and cant keep up with the pace. Also a big turn over guy. Look for more roster moves next week.i

The KOMETS should claim Jason Dale off
Waivers to replace Lyon He's a good forward
& could fill that open roster spot.
