Tailing the Komets

Statement from Komets

``From out standpoint these two players were going to be key members of the 2013-14 Komet team, but things have not worked out from the team perspective,'' Komets General Manager David Franke said. ``We feel that it is time to charnge up the team further and make the right move to better our team in the coming days. So, both players have been suspended until a move can be made. There will be no further discussion on the matter by the Komets until the issue is properly resolved.''

suspend franke for what? giving us over twenty years of exciting hockey and for most years knowing that going to the barn meant we were pretty asssured of a win or at least an exciting and entertaining evening?  we had a bad year last year and this one has been eratic at best, but this years team on paper looked great so we cant blame the gm for putting it together and then have the players not play even close to their capabilities. who knew that tuzzie would all of a sudden stink on defense, who knew that our giants pepin and pokoluck would suddenly turn soft, who knew that vaskivou would suddenly try to lead the world in assists instead of putting the biscuit in the net, who knew that the big goal scorer lang would refuse to play defensively, who knew that our scorers would miss so many open nets and couldnt even put most shots on goal???? sometimes these things happen and you have to keep molding until the wrongs are righted.  this is not something that is new to the komets.  the best team of all time i think was the 72-73 turner cup champs, and it was very hard to be a komet fan in the few years that followed that, let alone the fact we didnt win anothere cup for twenty years. it time to rally around those guys still here that are busting their butts to represent fort wayne in the hockey world. if a little adversity causes you fair weather fans to want to not buy any more tickets then stay home. its ok to be upset and want to complain and offer suggestions but in the end you either suporrt the team or you really arent needed. ive been very upset over the years by players and management and its ok to voice those concerns but as a hockey fan  and a komet fan im glad that for around forty times a season ive got something to follow ,somewhere to go to yell and get rid of my weekly frustrations and somewhere to go to see friends and enjoy something alot of people dont have the opportunity to experieince. hopefully the team and mangement will turn things around. go komets!
