Komets acquire Jason Dale

From a Komets press release:

The Komets announced Wednesday that forward Jason Dale has been acquired from the Ontario Reign of the ECHL in a trade for cash.

Dale, 25, began his career in the ECHL in 2009-10 sharing the season with Utah and Bakersfield before jumping to the Central Hockey League (CHL) in 2010-11 and leading Bloomington with career highs of 35 assists and 52 points in 70 games while earning a spot on the CHL All Star Team.  The Toronto, Ontario native also made his AHL debut appearing in four games with Bridgeport during 2010-11.

In 2011-12 Dale matched his previous season's total of 17 goals and added 22 assists for 39 points with Bloomington.Last year Dale returned to the ECHL and scored 16 goals and 39 points while appearing in a team high 70 games with the Evansville IceMen.

2013-14 is Dale's fifth pro season.  The forward has split the year in the ECHL between Evansville and Ontario.  Dale started the season skating nine games with the IceMen before being claimed off waivers by the Reign Nov. 30.  Dale scored two assists and three points in nine games with Ontario before being acquired by Fort Wayne.

Good move ..I liked him when he played Bloomington and Evansville ..  A good leader, he hustles.. Ontario had to let him go so they could make room for some of the SF players ..

Doesn't to bring him in but he hasn't had the success in the ECHL that he had in Bloomy. At this point worth the gamble only had to give up cash and think this says a lot about the futures we have been expecting from Orlando and Utah not going to happen for the time being.

He does not count as a veteran and he will be here to play Friday.

I am applauding David Franke and the Komets for acquiring Jason Dale.  He is a quality player with scoring history.  This is exactly the kind of intervention that I want to see from the front office. Whether or not not it works out, the Komets have received a center with the skill necessary to accomplish two things.  1) To score and 2) to play the center position.

Good job, David Franke.  It shows much more than just the acquisition.

Don't stop now!

I hope he does well here. I always liked his style of play when he played against the Komets.

Blake, could you please do an interview with Jason? I would be interested to hear his perspective on playing against the Komets, thoughts on the CHL, the ECHL, playing in the western division etc.   I believe it would be good reading. I have a hunch your ahead of me though.
