Prime example tonight why this club has a long ways to go to secure a playoff spot blew 3-0 lead and the tying goal was another soft one..Bright spot was Dale, but these are the games they have to win and get 2 points.  I believe they lost the season series to Elmira also, just puzzling that the number of opportunities this team has blown.  They let Elmira out play them, stop hitting, and got to fancy with the puck passed up too many shots trying to make the perfect play..For every step forward it seems they take 2 steps backward, frustrating

ive come to the conclusion that this team not only lacks physical toughness but is lacking mental toughness. 3 to zip game and a good fight and then they just flat out stopped.  vaskivou comes in and does what he pleases and i dont think one komet hit him at any time.  the sad thing is we bring in  a journeyman center whose been with three different teams this year and he was the best player on the ice.  maybe its time to change the coach. weve tried bringing in new players but  nothing changes.   do somthing before its too late.

Blake ?   Next time you talk to the coach would you ask him why this team does not one-time shots? Instead they try and settle the puck down and ain their shot which gives the goalie time to square up to the shooter.

That would be a better question for the guys themselves. One thing is I don't think they trust the ice and they are worried about pucks hopping over sticks. That happened a couple times tonight.

Gary said something interesting tonight about how every time they get into transition, they drag the puck to the middle of the ice where the defense is waiting for them instead of just shooting from the wing and creating rebounds for the off-side wingers. He's exactly right about that. Marino does that all the time, and how many times have we seen that lead to odd-man rushes the other way this year?

``Unwillingness to shoot the puck. You see us come down on the rush, four on four with a great chance to shoot the puck and we drive it to the middle where everybody is at and it goes the other way in transition.''

Interesting side not here on the trade where we sent Vasky to Elmira for Carter and Ouellet:

Vasky 11 Games 7 G 12 A 19 pts +11  4 goals 6 Assist 10 pts vs Komets

Carter 10 Games 2 G 0 A 2 Pts -2

Ouellet 11 Games 2 G 3 A 5 Pts -3

How many rebounds did Elmira goalie give up on silver platter tonight?  Nobody crashing the net

They went head-to-head tonight as well and that's where the game was decided.

Blake, I thought the game changed right after the fight. It pumped up Elmira and they out skated us the rest of the night. they beat us to every loose puck right up to the winning goal. You would think they could  have made some changes to slow them down. Just goes to show you need to play 60 min to keep a lead.

What's driving me nuts is you see role players who try to get fancy after they get ahead. That's just not knowing how good you aren't. Seriously. You don't score, you don't hit, you don't fight but you're trying to get fancy then? What ARE you doing? You aren't that good to be trying stuff like that.

After wanting to see some sign of physical life from this team all year...

THAT...was a stupid fight!

Up three, everything going your way...WHY take the chance on swinging momentum the other way, by trading hands with a guy who stepped on the ice only three times the ENTIRE GAME. That Bellamy is such a liability that they didn't even use him to serve the bench minor.

Bad, bad fight. We had NOTHING after it. We got suckered in and it cost us a point.

not a bad fight.  fights can also be used to energize the crowd{by that time last night the crowd was pretty quiet} and it can also serve to fire up the team once again to continue its drive.  in the case last night it did the opposite. it gave the team  A false sence of security and they just stopped.  that falls squarely on the shoulders of the coach. ive been a gary supporter all year but weve changed players and the same troubles happen so i think that its time to make a change.

fight game too early in the game     should have been middle of the 3rd period ( or 5 seconds after he ran our goalie)

why give them 30+ min to get back into the game      they started playing physical + our guys crawled back into their cups.....

who didn't see this final score after their 2nd goal? ( or 1st)   stupid, stupid hockey...

Got my bill for the playoffs     Where is my refund for the money I have already spent
