I'm very happy for Kenton Miller. I thought that Vermeesch played well tonight when he was given a chance. I was very happy that Embach got that empty netter. He works hard, plays on a line where the talent is a little thin.
Marino, Auger, and Fleming continue to impress me. In a year of massive disappointment, they have been continuous bright spots.
If David Franke can bring in two solid snipers, I think this team will be OK up front. I want to see more of Vermeesch. I think Nutkevitch has done alright in his short time here, also.
I can't help but think a solid goaltender (experienced and older, not a prospect) and a very solid clear the crease, stay at home defenseman would propel this team at least to the playoffs.
I have to admit that I smiled a little when they played "Mony, Mony" on that empty net goal. I mean, how can the goalie 'suck" when he's not even on the ice? LOL
The whole night was much more positive than I thought it would be. The game experience was more positive, the game itself was more positive, and I hope and trust you found this comment as being positive, also.

I was reading an out of town newspaper online and came across a story about a team that has been successful this year. Here is a quote from the coach but I edited to make it generic.
“The locker room is very drama-free and in ______ that is not always easy,” Coach said. “We have great chemistry. We worked hard recruiting great character _______. We’ve really built a culture in the locker room where they believe in each other. They care for each other and that goes a long, long way in ______!”
The point is drama within a locker room is deadly to success and the effects linger for some time. I will post tonight the coach and team.

Wow, guess I do not have to say much...agree with Alan....loved the game....played the way I thought it should be played and enjoyed it thoroughly....this is the team I thought I would see at the beginning of the year
Hmmmmm.....goalie, experienced....not a prospect to move up.....how about looking at our prior goalies who have served us welll....not going to suggest anyone however
Marino....most fun player to watch, night in and night out....his ability with the stick and puck are worth the price of admission
One final thing....did a poll of some of my fellow ticket holders and they all agreed that they would pay more for AHL tickets, to see less of what we go thru at this level with all the changes.....interesting

Tickets have already went up $5 across the board in the last 2 years, and our prices are already in line with, and sometimes more than the AHL teams charge. It already costs $7 for a drink and a candy bar. Why should we pay more?

So, lets join the AHL....get better players (supposedly)....and move forward
By the way.....forget the drink and candy bar.....everything there is way overpriced.....wow

Bronsin is it....did some research on you "we are paying AHL prices now" statement...found out the following (for comparable seats to what I have now):
- Abbotsford Heat - $30 - 36
- Hartford Wolfpace - $30
- OKC Barons - $28
- Hershey Bears - $26
- Albany Devils - $22
Also looked into their ticket packages....which is what I get as a season ticket holder and found the same results....most of these prices are from $4 - $12 higher than what we pay currently.....so Bronsin is it...what is your answer to this???....really

"The Komets really have a lot of talent and toughness but are struggling to balance the two ~ combine that with giving up sizeable leads and taking foolish penalties in the 3rd period and it will always be hard to win playing that style of Hockey !"

"This thing is getting frustrating. Just when it looks like things are turning around, we lose our only goal scorer. Even if we make the playoffs this year, does anyone think we can compete with the likes of Muskegon, K-Zoo, or Rockford? They just seem like they are in a different league than us this year. We better start looking for quality guys to bring into next years camp now so we don't go into next year like we did this year."

Quotes spanning multiple years, UHL, IHL, CHL and ECHL, but all have the same tone. Championship years, non championship years and a year yet to be determined.
It all sounds like minor league hockey to me.
We went from the 50's, 60's and 70's having guys that would have been in the NHL had there been as many teams as there are today.
To the 80's, 90's and 00's where we have our beloved veterans.
To the 10's No NHL'ers, not many beloved vets...... a new era that we will all get used to because we have survived the changes of the past.
I hate change, had to happen, some fans will leave, new fans will come.
The sth base won't change much, the non sth fan base in this city will fluctuate with the win loss record.

Jesus Christ, is that You?! Very well said. I agree, and feel embarrassed when I shouted atop the mountain. Same thing I tell my life partner of 6 years, if you reserve your words til after the smoke clears, life would be a whole lot easier and alot less stressful. That is probably why im still married :) and her life savior. Go Komets, but I wont ride the roller coaster. (thumps up 1) (thumps down 0)
