Tailing the Komets

What a goal! All right!

Playing his first game with the Komets, Christian Ouellet blocked a shot at the Fort Wayne blue line, carried the puck up ice, faked out one defenseman, let the other slide by and then faked out goaltender Joel Martin for possibly the prettiest goal of the season.

Another thing: A new drinking game. Every time the guy who hosts intermissions stuff says, ``All right!'' take a drink. It's better than ``Hi, Bob.''

Other than that, a very boring game. About 2,500 fans here. It looks like a training camp scrimmage.

Unfortunately Blake all games are starting to have a common theme, Boring...Say the kid got run into and was taken out injured??  I saw this the last game happen as well as Marino, Auger, and Fleming taking shot after shot and nobody steping in to do anything?? What gives???

Only one comment...Makarov again let in a soft goal...stick side. 20-30 feet out....bent to the right and it went right over his right shoulder....this has been a common theme for him in many games....we would not have had to go to OT had it not been for his ONCE AGAIN missing a soft goal.....play Meisner more and sit this kid.....he needs goalie lessons.....to nonchalant for me

Tonight was a perfect example of WHY guys don't hit for fear of being penalized. Those were love taps compared to the old days and they were called for penalties... on both sides. No wonder it's boring hockey.

What's the status of Makarov after going out of the game when he was run into while in goal?

Blake: What's up with Makarov? From where I was sitting, it didn't look like he got hit that hard.

blake, ive been going to komet games for 54+ years and have had a season ticket for 40years and i have to admit its getting so boring that im starting to not care if we win or not. losing is not bothering me like it should and im getting more and more frustrated with the echl  euro hockey. its sad when its more exciting to watch the usa vs. canada womens games than it is to watch the echl.  time for all aa leagues to merge and up the salary cap and allow more vets to play.  something different has to happen or im afraid going to a hockey game wont be the chosen venue for our entertainment dollar.

Can't blame you, Chuckitt. It's definitely a different game than it was even 10 years ago. It's like every team plays the same style, too, which isn't helping. Remember when you used to see different styles from different teams?

I actually enjoy watching Evansville play OTHER teams, just when they play us they seem to be as bored as we are. Even when they lose, the fans are treated to some excitement. I see excitement and big hits when watching other teams.

I think it is a combination of what you have on your roster you can find the "rough stuff" throughout the ECHL. The Western Conference is a pretty entertaining conference. Orlando and Utah had a pretty entertaining game about a week ago and Stockton and Bakersfield always have an entertaining games.
