Short neutral zone, but it looks like there is acres of space behind the goals.

Really like the way Meisner controls the pace of the game by covering up for faceoffs. Makes the job easier for his defensemen.

Yes he does a good job. I think he is our #1 goalie. he is really good down low and very mobile.

This camera man is terrible. Our forecheck on the other hand is really really good tonight. Great pressure in waves tonight.

Looks like Wheeling fans forgot there was a game tonight, unless everybody dressed up like a orange chair.

Terrible penalty by Coyle. Mad cause you got put on your butt, so you get up and take a stupid penalty on your power play. Awful Awful Awful.

who's the guy calling the game with Hormann? Some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is not even close the being correct. example, his comments about Ratchuk...

Chris Treft. He's an IPFW hockey player who is an intern at WPTA.

The lack of physical play on this team is not the players choice. They are playing within the system and the system is horrible. The players in this league are too good for stick checks.

You should go to a practice sometime AC. They work on physical stuff all the time, especially in front of nets.

Why does it change in the game? Fear of penalties?

Maybe somewhat, but I also think they fear making a mistake and letting a skater get behind them. Skaters are so much faster than they were 10 years ago. Partly, they also just don't want to do it so they don't.

If I could add to it. With guys skating so incredibly fast, when a guy the size of a Pepin or Southorn hits you, you are going to go down. It makes refereeing the game so much harder than it was 10 years ago, you see alot more questionable interference calls. You used to have to darn near tackle a guy to get a call, mainly cause wings never played the wide open, dump and chase euro style.

Good point. I wonder if refs are so unused to calling those type of games, too.

Also see a lot more guys steering players off pucks into the boards instead of all-out slamming a guy. Just as effective.

If Wheeling keeps this style of forecheck going, the Komets are going to pop Marino or Schrock loose for a breakaway soon. The way they are gambling with three forecheckers means Danis-Pepin might be able to hit a long pass up the middle sometime.

Meisner with a couple huge saves, would like to see the Komets d-men take a couple strides when they get the puck instead of trying to be so uptempo with the touch passes in transition. Possess the puck and slow it down a little with the lead.

Good call Blake, wasn't quite a breakaway but still Schrocky got it.

Wonder how long before McGrath and Schrock go?
