Let's start the discussion here.
The plan is for Ben Meisner to start in goal tonight.
Wednesday was weird because I didn't think the Komets were out-classed, I just thought they didn't play well, maybe their worst game in a while. Even with that, it was still 2-1 going into the third even though they made some glaring mistakes they haven't made in two months. If they can ever get their power play going consistently to score on goal a game or be a threat every time...
Comments
Just per discussion purposes.
As I stated earlier, I think (maybe hope is a better way to put it) that the trip, climate change as far as a distraction, the family opportunity, and the "readiness" to play so quick after arriving (?) may have taken their minds off of hockey.
Now, after a couple of days, maybe the guys will be a little more focused.
If not, then there will be problems as it will be extremely hard to make up the lost standings points.
I, personally, am looking for the offense to come alive in both of these remaining games. If not, then the mgmt will need to take a hard, honest look at their roster. Obviously one or two goals per game won't be acceptable and the season is starting to progress to the point where it is going to be too difficult to make up for substandard play.
The team needs to be prepared for tough, hard fought games as Florida is clamoring for more points also.
If the Komets come out flat, and Graham doesn't have them prepared for both games, then I think some players better be prepared for changes.
Just my thoughts as this weekend starts. Here's hoping for two wins.
The Komets will finish 7th in the conference and make the playoffs.
I could explain it better, but I'd need charts, and graphs, and an easel.
They need to get these 4 points this weekend, hopefully they come out and play great and get some goals!!
Blake, the checking clinic that chaulk is holding at canlan if I paid for it do you think the komets would attend?
Possibly, if you suggested it to them in person.
Komets bringing the defense tonight, holding the Everblades to 13 shots through two periods. Really controling the neutral zone.
No excuse for the lackluster PP just down right awful. They are all over the place and can't control puck in the attack zone
8 PP and one goal so far that is horrible.
Komets need to turn down any power play time. We play like crap with the man advantage.
I think they need to try different people on it. I know people jump on Gary when Miller and Szydlowski are on it, but at least they keep it simple and run the power play adn don't try to make stupid individual plays that fall apart. really, what have they got to lose?
Oh, and Florida wins for best hockey cheerleaders ever!
Coyle is having a horrible 3rd period
Florida is due about two power plays here, too.
Didnt we try that cheerleader thing back in the Welker days?
the K- mutt
Absolutely pitiful
anyone want to bet me that Florida gets a pp chance in OT and wins it that way?
No excuse for that kind of play.
Everybody tries to be optimistic but this is the identity of this team.
Meisner for MVP. haha
Its about time we win a shoot out. Meisner is our best goaltender, his team mates hung him out to dry tonight.
Thanks Ben...u should play 90% of the remaining games...hang your heads K' s...2 shorthanded goals...SAD indeed
