Clarke has nine goals and 21 points in 19 games against the Komets last the two years.

4 p.m. is the deadline.

At this point they need bodies, but another 5-9 forward where has the size gone???

Not sure there is any among free agent players which is all you can trade for. Affiliated players, definitely.

I asked some of the players yesterday how much they thought size was an issue, and under the circumstances they could have said anything, and they all agreed it wasn't. They like seeing big guys on the opposition because they feel they can skate around them.

I'm not sure about that, but it's what they said.

Agreed, size needed! Hope I'm wrong but team seams a little small & soft for this final push or playoff run! Can barely field a full playing roster now, only going to get more physical & dirtier in playoffs!

I think this is a very good pick up. Proven scorer. Good two-way player. Embach type.  Adding Jason Dale back to tyhe mix,  I think there are 3 potentially great lines.

For those that feel that size matters....yeah, I know where that went with some of you out there..... can anyone name a forward over 6-1 on the 2012 CHL Championship team?   If they can, did that players size actually have any impact?

I was told 4  p.m. but the deadline was 3 p.m. Looks like that was the only deal in the ECHL today. Some teams made similar deals yesterday.

For those who can that would be correct but the problem is we don't have enough that really can. As for the Clarke deal I don't see that as a trade it was to settle the debacle of the Orlando deal had to get something for that and right now Orlando sure got the better deal for Lang. You loose nothing signing a college or Juniors kid at this point they need bodies with the injuries. Any reason why they released Gates this late in the season??? Don't understand that one? While they have made a lot of changes I can't really say how much better they have really gotten and I think they have never really addressed some of the things they themselves pointed out prior to the year beginning. In some ways I have never seen the what appears to be a disorganized hockey club. That is what it appears to be looking from the outside at least.

Gates didn't want to play forward when asked for Sunday's game. That was one reason why they were short-handed.  He's back with Pensacola now.

There is no such thing as a trade debacle in this league. Go back to Blakes comments about how this league serves the AHL and how a few players serve themselves. Its spot on. Im actually shocked Orlando made good.. as best as they could ...or wanted too.

Look at the recent assignment of Connor Knapp. This goalie, who is property of Buffalo has been assigned to Greenville to start the season( and played against another Buffalo prospect- Makarov), then called up, then reassigned to Florida, then called up and then reassigned to Alaska. Now, how nuts is that??!!  Buffalo wants him in a long playoff position and probably felt at this point that Alaska was best bet. There is ZERO loyalty from above.  Im sure there are fans in Greenville that just dont understand why he was not sent back to Greenville???

To those pining for affiliation, I dont see how you CAN have a successful affiliation.  I know Buffalo has no direct ties with anyone in the ECHL.  Just be glad Makarov does not get called up. Chances are he would  be sent to another ECHL team when sent back down.

I'm thankful that the Komets didn't sit on their hands.  I hope everyone welcomes Aaron Clarke and no one expects him to be Lang, or hold it against him for the handling of the Lang trade.

Clarke is a familiar figure to Fort Wayne, the Komets, and the building.  He seems to want to be here and I wish him the best of luck.

I'm also looking forward to watching the two new young defensemen.

I'm concerned for the health of Carter, Dale, and both of the Ouellets.  Blake, is there any further report on their status?

Finally, I'm grateful that the Orlando deal has some finality to it.  It didn't work the way it should have but its done now.

Carter, Dale and Ouellet are out for a long time, and we'll just have to wait and see. Christian can come off IR on Saturday. Not sure on Martine's status yet. He'll be game-time decision. All three new players are expected to be available to play tomorrow night.

any player we would have gotten from orlando would be a win win.  you people forget that for all his goals  lang didnt play any defense and as it turned out he became a cancer in the lockerroom. good ridence to him and great to have clarke.

Must clarify the "debacle" I reference is the circumstances surrounding the Lang trade and how long it has taken to resolve it. As far as getting Clarke comes at a time we need bodies and it appears the K's got who they wanted in this deal resolving move with Orlando. Picking up the Kid from Stockton cost them nothing and more than likely they will transfer their Future's they received from Utah. They were playing with "house money" and didn't have to give up anything to get a good size forward. Now for Gates it really puzzles me that a guy is offered ice time and turns it down because he doesn't want to play forward? Really?? There is another situation you can add to the weird things that have happen for the 2013-14 season.
