Tailing the Komets

Game 1, round 1

Same lineup for the Komets as last time except Jace Coyle is in for Justin Seftin. Ben Meisner starts in goal. Brandon Anderson for the Royals. Referee is Andrew Wilk. Komets are confident, very businesslike.

Nick? Ben? :)
Also, I assume that means Dean is not playing? If so I think that is a mistake...

I hope Dean is playing and Schrock is sitting. Either way, Go Komets!!!

No ECHL TV?

Josh Brittain driving the net to make it 1-0 off a Sean Wiles pass. And Reading going onto the power play after a Jace Coyle elbowing call. Very obvious.

Komets out-shot the Royals 12-4 in the first but trail 1-0. Reading only  had the one good scoring chance compared to about four for the Komets. Doesn't look a whole lot different than any regular-season game so far.

How many fans would say are there Blake? Looks very empty.

Sounds like we have a few K's fans there or you are cheering really loud and in stereo Blake.

Maybe 40 percent full. And that's Justin doing all the yelling.

Despite the lopsided shot count, looking at the shot chart, looks like the quality scoring chances are only 8-6 in favor of the K's, hence the 1-1 score.  Looks like reading is doing a good job of keeping us to the outside and limiting our quality opportunities.  Also seems like our best scoring opportunities are coming after Schrock has a shift.  Schrocks aggressive forecheck and play seems to feed and energize his teammates the next couple of shifts as well as put Reading on heels and create more space for the following lines.  Noticed that at home last week too that our goals and best scoring ops come right after his shft.  Still feel Schrocks value and leadership is underestimated, especially when he has been penciled primarily into a defensive and PK role most of the season.  All things said, should make for an interesting 3rd period.  Go K's.

Nice to see we are starting 3rd with good pressure.  Hope we can keep the intesity going for the duration of the game.

Wow.  That's about all you can say about that one.  Brings back memories of 1980 US team the way Syd just out raced everyone to the puck.  Wow!!!!  Great all around effort guys!  Way to be loud and proud Justin!  Need to be ready on Saturday, you know Reading coming to come out on all cylinders after that lack luster effort.

The boys were well prepared and they were all over Reading from start to finish.  They kept the pressure on and the hard work paid off.  From top to bottom they played there best game in a long while
